Palm Beach County put 3,500 voting machines
and their ballots up for auction today on eBay.
Money raised will help pay for new voting machines
with touch-screen technology.
The 3,595 machines, which originally cost $150 each,
are being auctioned over the next 10 days. The county
is asking a minimum bid of $300 for a voting machine
with brass plaque, a butterfly ballot, a certificate of
authenticity, 25 sample punch-card ballots and a signed
photo of the canvassing board. For a $600 minimum
bid, they'll throw in all that, plus an aluminum ballot box.

What would really be great is if they could get Bush and Gore to autograph those machines and donate the auction proceeds to the 9-11 disaster relief fund.
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.
