Is it just me or does anyone rate the sellers anymore!!??!?! Out of the past 30 auctions I have closed succesfully, I have received a total of 6 feedbacks, yes 6 FEEDBACKS. I sell very quality merchandise in my category, my shipping is ultra fast and I keep very good contact with the buyer during the transaction. Even after the old pitiful "Would you please leave me feedback e-mails" NOTHING!

What I have discovered lately by talking to people personally, those who are striclty buyers do not even know how to use the feedback system and in some cases do not even know what it is!!!

For instance my boss at work asks me a couple weeks ago "what does that number next to my user name mean?" When I checked out his ID he had a feedback rating of nearly 100 and had never rated a single seller let alone ever clicked on that "number" to even see what it was. Sorry if I am whining, just needed to vent on this issue.

I send out 60-90 packages a week, many have mulitiple items in them. I leave feedback for each item.

I recieve about 50 feedback a week. Most of my buyers are under 100 feedback. I have never worried about whether they leave me feedback or not. I do like watching the number go up. I am proud of the fact that I have 500 feedback from mulitiple buyers!

Yes, I've found it tough during the past few weeks - it seems everyone has something else on their mind.

When I do send out my post-shipment notice, I include the following text:

"Please take a moment to send feedback to eBay. I value your comments and I hope to see you at more of my auctions in the future. Here is a link you can use: http://cgi2.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?LeaveFeedbackShow"

If they click on that button, they are going to get all of the feedbacks that they owe.

Some folks realize that they need to add this to their "favorites" while others ignore the e-mail...

Mandalore, you're not the only one. I leave feedback on every transaction, and my overall rate of feedback returned is about 70%. However, on sales since 9/11, I've only received feedback on about one-third of my sales.

We have left over 7000 feedbacks and leave feedback on every buyer we get.We get about 1/3rd back.I no longer worry about it.

What I have found though is that buyers who buy items for under 100.00 leave feedback. Those higher and ones closer to 1000.00 rarely do.

I just posted my feedback milestone (1500) and honestly do not keep track of who gives me feedback and who doesn't - too time consuming! While I like getting as much positive feedback that I can get (who doesn't) I really don't worry about it. I always leave positive feedback for all buyers.

On my buying account, it is amazing how many dealers contact me asking for feedback! I try to leave feedback, but unlike my seller account where it is literally one click of the mouse, I need to go in manually for my buying transactions, so I batch them, and sometimes don't get them all...

I had a buyer leave neutral feedback just today...
item not what I expected

I wrote and asked why he didn't contact me if there was a problem, as I would have been more than willing to find a solution to his dissatisfaction.

His response was... "Your not at fault, I thought the item in question was something else, so I bear the blame, it was not what I expected and therefore not a positive transaction"

wondering now if I should respond to the FB and if so, how, Rob

The question is did you leave feedback already? If no, then I think a negative is deserved, and I would also block this person from bidding in future auctions.

I don't bother to leave feedback except as a courtesy to those who leave it for me. I don't think the feedback system works because most sellers are afraid to leave negative feedback for fear of retalitory negatives.

ahc3...yes, I left a positive feedback. This buyer paid within an hour of the eoa, and I shipped same day. His neutral comment was posted 22 days later.
