You might try a soft eraser for some of the light soil or pencil marks. Anything else should just be left alone and described in your description. People that buy old sheet music usually expect names etc. to be on the covers.

Don't use the eraser on any areas that contain color. Many times the color will come off and the sheet will look even worse.
I assume your talking about "dirty" as in soiling not writing or music store stamps. Unless the music is very old and print on rag based paper, there's very little you can do to clean it. You can wipe it down with a dry soft cloth, but this will only remove lose surface dirt and dust.

Occasionally I sell sheet music and I never clean it. In my description I say everything that is wrong with it along with the good things and tell the buyer to bid accordingly. I wish there was a rating scale for sheet music. Maybe there is but I haven't found it yet.
