I'm getting little to no response to WBNs since Ebay started this checkout thing. Any suggestions??
On a happier note---bids seem to be picking up! Hope this is true for the rest of you!

No problem here. I still send out my EOA notices right away because in my auction I state that I will personally send and email with 12 hours of auction ending. Then I start my email with this.

"Hi, my name is XXXXX and I want to thank you for taking advantage of the BIN on the Cat Earrings and Button Covers. If asked please do not use the automatic checkout because I am not familiar with this feature, and I do not take Billpoint. I hope this doesn't inconvenience you. I like to be the first contact of my auctions.

This seems to help. I also state it in my auctions that I do not use checkout. I do that by Saying Attention: (that is in red)
then I continue saying I don't use the check out. Seems to help. I get responses right away.

I'm getting responses too. I also email immediately after auction close. The only difference is that I do accept Billpoint. I've been using the statement "Checkout should be used for eBay Payments only" in the checkout policy message box. I haven't had anyone use checkout that didn't pay using eBay Payments yet. As a matter of fact, I've only had 2 eBay Payments since Checkout began. I've gotten dozens of PayPal payments instead. It is usually the exact opposite. This is in spite of the fact that I have a Personal PayPal account and do not accept CC payments. It seems my customers would rather pay by eCheck or Instant Transfer through PayPal than use checkout.

I Am still Sending out my EOA AS alway following the auction even if the buyer uses the Checkout These days more times then not the EOA say thanks for your payment how ever there is a problem with ebay checkout and the payment you made didn't include shipping charge.

Please take time to send a check money order or credit card payment for X.xx So we can ship the item

I think these problem are solved for now too since AW got the Checkout added we still cant opy out of checkout but I can add shipping to the checkout feature.

you have to go to yuor my account go to your ebay profile and turn checkout on after that it will show up in the form when you create or relaunch auction so you can add the shipping and tax or you can choose not to add check info.

Thanks, I will do that. I don't use checkout but maybe I could at least put the shipping in there so they know it is not 'free'. Appreciate the help!

The amount of time I now take to deal with this is very annoying! I don't take billpoint, and just had to respond to someone who was trying to pay me through that I guess. I don't know, I should probably just ignore the requests for checkout since I do send out my EOA notice soon after the auction ends, maybe people just don't check their email

You will be happy to know that eBay has decided to make Checkout truly optional...although they say it will take them two to three weeks to make the change.

Boy am I glad to hear that, so all I need to do is check my profile to opt out when that becomes an option. I am so glad they listened to the 'people'. If you use Billpoint it was probably a good thing, but not for those of us who still take checks and money orders. Thank you for the info.
