Please help me identify this bronze statue, I received this from my grandparents a long time ago (both gone now)and have always wondered about it.
This 15 inch bronze ancient warrior stands on a piece of black marble. He is a swordsman wearing what looks like an animal pelt around his waist. On the ground under him is what looks like a Grecian shield.
It is signed on the bronze behind the shield, "Kowalczewski", the s in the signature is written backwards.
We have often speculated that he is either Hercules or David. Does anyone know anything about this particular artist?

Looks like if you have that piece that it could be worth quite a bit of money. I would look into insurance...
