Hi,

I have a Domain Name (www.Dejapooh.com), and I would like for the domain to bounce people to my about me page at Ebay. In other words, when someone types in Dejapooh.com, the ABOUT ME page loads up (thus showing all of my current auctions). Does anyone have any idea how to do this?

You can use a java script to do this. Search the web for scripts and you'll find a site that will have this script available for free download.

Sorry, this is new stuff for me. Here is what they had...

<!-- ONE STEP TO INSTALL REFRESH:

1. Paste the coding into the HEAD of your HTML document -->

<!-- STEP ONE: Copy this code into the HEAD of your HTML document -->

<HEAD>

<META HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" CONTENT="10;URL=refresh2.html">

<!-- Or use this method .... -->

<BODY onLoad=window.setTimeout("location.href='next-page.html'",10000)>

<p><center>
<font face="arial, helvetica" size="-2">Free JavaScripts provided<br>
by <a href="http://javascriptsource.com">The JavaScript Source</a></font>
</center><p>

<!-- Script Size: 1.36 KB -->

now, lets say I want to advance the person to "http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/dejapooh/"

It seems to me that the correct script would be

onLoad=window.setTimeout("location.href='http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/dejapooh/'",10)>

That should reduce the time it waits to almost nothing, and pop them forward without leaving a comment on the screen telling them where I am sending them... does that seem right to anyone?

Try this (this would be the whole html for the page):

<html>
<head>
<title>Dejapooh</title>
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/dejapooh/">
</head>

<body>

</body>
</html>

Great. I will give that a try... When I am at the Olympics, I have a jacket that says Dejapooh.COM on the back... It would be nice if it means something when I am in Salt Lake City. Thanks again

this one is real simple, just put in the <head> section of your page:

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
<!-- Begin
window.location = "http://www.yoururl.com";
// End -->
</SCRIPT>

The most low tech way to "redirect" is to put one sentence on your page that says something like, "This page has been moved. Click here to go to the new xxxxx:" Then you add a link to your ebay page.

Great suggestions all. now I just have to figure out how to upload it to the host (I am using a free hosting service, and while I like the Free part... that service part is a bit lacking, as you can imagine). Thanks again.
