Hello everyone. Long time reader, first time poster (LOL). A prospective bidder e-mailed me yesterday and pointed out an error in my listing. It's a fairly major error, so I wanted to close my auction early and re-submit it with the right information. Well, I went to the "close your auction early" page and logged in. Within 2-3 seconds I received an error message first from Internet Explorer (cannot find server/DNS something) and then from eBay (input error). I have been trying to close the auction since last night and each time I get the same error. I have e-mailed eBay twice, but have not received any sort of response. I posted a disclaimer on the auction page (you can read it here--http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1296073277), but I'm still worried about getting negative feedback because I can't log in to cancel the bids of those who have already bid on the auction. I tried switching browsers and I've tried going through eBay Canada, but nothing works. I just had another eBay member e-mail me about 10 minutes ago and let me know that she is having the same problem. Can anyone offer any advice/tips/solutions? Thanks!

can you go to someone else pc and sign on to ebay and try again?
or bid on the item yourself, bid high to make sure no one can outbid you, then wait 7 days to file notice with ebay with reasons like mutual agreement not to complete transaction so you will get your final value fee refunded.
good luck?
or you can email your bidders you are having problem and their bids dont count.

Maybe if you try the same trick that we have to use on reviseing some of out auctions. Fill out the first page wait a couple of minuttes the submit..for some reason waiting about 2 minuttes works for that. It wouldn't hurt to try!

You could have a corrupted cookie. This type of problem pops up ever so often over at image hosting. Go in and delete all the cookies on your hard drive and try again.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

It might be your browser. I know it sounds crazy but when I try and revise an auction with Internet Explorer it can take 20+ tries and lots of frustration to get ebay to take the information. I keep getting error pages.

I downloaded the Opera browser and revising is now quick and easy. I'm not computer savvy enough to know why. I just know it works for me. I think I went to Opera.com to get the browser.

I have had the same problem twice in the last week, I tried every way to cancel the auctions without success, in the end, I had to let them run and just HOPE no-one would bid, both had mistakes, one I re-listed in error and was already sold.
