Overstock states up to 70% of retail. The prices I checked on ebay for the same items are 30-50% off Overstock. A recent article in the paper stated by the author she found ebay had lower prices on new electronics than the wholesale prices that the large electronic stores receives.Interesting, huh?

I checked them out a couple of times, and their prices were not at all competitive. It seems every company claims to have great prices, but very few do.
For resellers like me, it is always "caveat emptor".
I also believe that for ebay sellers, we are often competing with grey market goods, and stolen goods. Most shoplifting is actually done by regular employees, you know, to "equalize" their low salaries in the shipping department etc.
You read about these scams every so often, but usually big companies hush them up.

With any company, you need to do the research and network with other sellers to buy items with a good margin. Overstock.com is retailer. You need to go up higher on the chain for better deals.

Some sellers describe returned/defective items "AS-IS" which can be misleading. Or they include a picture for a retail box item, but it is really described as an out of the box item.
