<Taking big, deep breaths>
I had a bidder win an item and completely blow me off. No replies to e-mails nor the NPB warning from eBay. I leave a neg for them and file for FVF. Within an hour I receive payment via PayPal from this bidder! I sent his money back to him; however, this is not the first time this has happened to me lately. I have received two negs in the past month from bidders who tried to pay after the fact! I am steamed!
Another thing that frosts my chops is that I am out 60 cents in PayPal fees! Is there any way that I can recoup those fees? I wanted to set my preferences on PayPal where I have to okay each and every payment that comes into the account but I was unable to find any check box for that in my preferences.
In about 10 days, I plan to take a much-needed break from this crap. My feedback has taken quite a beating in the past 6 months from people who are now NARU, people who say they like the item but leave neutral, people I have refunded fully and let them keep the item who left neutral, it goes on and on. I am tired. I have moved a lot of my items to an antique mall which seems to be doing quite nicely. Maybe no customer contact is what I need right now.

Take your fees out of the payment before you sent the rest back.
Take a rest, then when you come back, you will be able to deal with this type of bidder.

If he sent the money, why did you send it back? Why didn't you just send him the item? Then blacklist him, so you'll never have to deal with him again.

Ah yes, the grass is always greener in the antique malls. Just keep in mind that the NPBs in the malls go by the name of "shoplifters." They can't tarnish your feedback, but at least with the Ebay NPB's, you still have the item to sell to somebody else. And locking up your goods in showcases is little defense - sometimes the shoplifters are the same guys who have access to the keys.

dadofstickboy: When it was obvious this deadbeat was not planning to pay, I took the item to the antique mall and it sold the next day. I no longer have the item. Oh, he/she is on my blacklist now. I usually do that when I send the NPB request to eBay.
I'm feeling better now and cleaning house. By the time the house is clean, Christmas will be over.

anyone who uses this board to VENT BIG TIME for an item with a paypal fee of 60 cents or so(total amount must be around 15) and sold it in the antique mall the next day should give us combat pay for putting up with this crap.
count your blessing,most deadbeats dont even bother to answer emails and yours sent payments,lucky you.
may be you should exit the retail business!!!
not to mention all that venting is bad for your health.

I've had about 50 NPBs in the past two months. The prize goes to my auctions for several Palm PDAs. In one auction, the high bidder wrote me to say she can't pay because she "lost her credit card." In another Dutch auction, high bidder on four pieces ($500+) has not sent payment or responded to emails. Those bidders will get appropriate feedback from me.

There is no question that the number of idiots plying the ebay site has increased manyfold recently.
SAD BUT TRUE,some folks are addicted to ebay and just cant help themselves playing that high tech interactive game called bidding.
then they look at their pocket book and no way they can pay for all these winnings.
it is very easy to be the high bidder these days,back in the old days,you bid many items figure you would be outbidded on most items so it is easier on your pocket book to make payments on say 40% of the items you bidded on,not so these days,you may win all 100% enchiladas
