I have a newbie bidder with 0 feedback. This person has registered with ebay on September 17th and has not bid until November 27th. He is currently the high bidder on 30 auctions, and has bid on 39 auctions since he started bidding yesterday. He hasn't won the two of them that have closed.
His total for his current high bids is $1,078.00, which includes $630.00 on a single dutch auction. The strange things about this person is that the $1,078 is for the same type of item. Is this something to be concerned about??

If I had been any of the sellers of the items she bid on, I am sure I would have been concerned. She, of course, honored all of her commitments.

Yes I would be concerned, because of the newness combined with the many bids for similar items. Perhaps the new person is an avid collector, which would be great.
Conversely, they could mistakenly believe that after all the wins are in they can pick the one they want to pay for.
So I would email the bidder and state the concern that so many bids by a newbie is often a sign of misunderstanding of the ebay process. And in an effort to avoid any misunderstandings once the auctions closed, to make sure that they understood the rules. After all, you wouldn't want to have to file a NPB or FVF on someone just starting out.
Of course if it is for some under $10 items you have plenty of, why bother. But if these are one of a kind items of significant price, then you shouldn't take any more chances than necessary.
