I was wondering if anyone has had trouble accepting a payment with the new Logo - I just tried to accept a payment made on my auction and it said I had to Verify my account first - Did they change policy ? I have several auctions with this logo closing It will be horrible if I have to deny several and ask for a standard payment .....
Thanks
Ed

I paid a seller and she told me that she would have to have her account verified(which would take several days and delay shipment) because my payment could only be accepted by a verified account member. She also asked if I would "turn off this setting". I assured her it was nothing I had done from my end.

I did cancel the payment and submit it through PayPal the old fashioned way and it worked fine then.

It never dawned on me that the problem could be due to the Pay Now logo.

Hello Sandvet, I asked paypaldaemon about this back in July: At first they said there was some confusion with the tech support people about unverified accounts using it. Then he said that his people confirmed that it was ok for unverified accounts to take the instant purchase payments. I believe they sent a notice about all automatic insertion paypal logos being the new instant purchase logos - They sure dont do me any good if I cant accept the payments. Im waiting to hear from paypal about it.

I doubt the logo has anything to do with it.

1) The seller has their preferences set so that only verified accounts can send money.

I, the buyer, am verified.

She, the seller, was not verified.

2) You've passed or will be passing the $1,000 limit on credit card payments in your account's history.

Nope.

Why would that have anything to do with her having to verify her account in order to accept my payment anyway?

OK4Leather, if you find out what is causing this, please post to let me know.
(What I mean, of course, is if you ever get a clear explanation from PayPal).

I Just got off the phone with paypal customer service and heres the deal. All Autoinsert Logos are Smart Logos - you can only manually add Dumb link logos to each auction by hand. If you are an Unverified business account and your customer pays from a credit card - The transaction shows up as an accept or deny on your log in screen. Unless you verify your account you have no choice but to deny the payment. Your customer gets a payment denied email and there you are... So Unverified accounts cannot use the automatic auction logos nor can we accept credit card payments from customers.
Thought this would be good for everyone to know about. I hope it saves you the embarrasment of having to deny a customers payment for no reason.
I feel better now.

Do you mean that unverified premier/business members can not accept credit card payments at all?

Or just not using the smart logo?

I thought the whole concept behind upgrading was to be able to accept credit card payments (for a honking fee).

I am a verified personal member and do not accept credit card payments through PayPal at all. I would upgrade only if they did not charge a fee on all transactions from that point on and just limit the fee to credit card transactions.

I think I am the last of a dying breed that won't upgrade. I wouldn't use paypal at all except there are a lot of sellers out there that are also buyers and they want to pay using their existing PayPal funds.

I'm not knocking them. That's exactly what I do too. I actually try to limit my spending to my PayPal balance. LOL!

You are right on the Money Sandvet Unverified Premere/Business accounts cannont accept credit card payments only payments from the balance - Problem is they dont block the paymentup front - They process it and make you look bad in front of your customer when its rejected - They probably charge you for it too lol ( I dont think they charge)

That's just bad business, in my opinion.

They seem to have eliminated the entire purpose for upgrading if you are an unverified member.

In the meantime, they are sucking those honking fees from every eCheck, instant transfer and existing funds transfer made into your account.

Sound like fraud but I'm sure they have somehow eliminated that too.
