When you get the check-out email that says "Ebay request total for item#" is that email generated by ebay or by the buyer? I am so confused. I contact the buyer with all the info, they reply, everythings all set, then the next day I get this email. What am I supposed to do? Is anyone else having this problem?

Ok contacting your buyer is ok the thing you are missing is your buyer is looking for the total includeing shipping.
you can add shipping to checkout by going to your ended auction on the buttom there will be a link to add shipping cost and generate an invoice with the total for your buyer.
They many be looking for the billpoint invoice if you changed your settings in billpoint or you never used instant pay then they can not pay you untill you send the invoice . http://www.Dman-N-Company.com

When I contact them I give them the total including shipping. Plus shipping charges are listed in my auction. That is what is puzzling me. This has happened about 6 times now. These ebay requests are coming after we have corresponded and exchanged info.

That email is generated by the buyer.
In most cases, I think some buyers are just curious and click through Checkout not realizing that it generates an email to the seller.
If you don't specify shipping in the Checkout Details, it is not included in the Checkout Total Due. Unless you have checked the box allowing your buyer to edit the total payment amount in Checkout, they are not able to add shipping when paying by eBay Payments.
So, if you have not checked the box allowing your buyer to edit the total, you must manually edit the Checkout Details to include shipping.

yeah, i get that a lot too. usually there is some kind of message they want to send me. you have to read the email to find out what it is (i.e. Merry Christmas, What is your shipping policy, etc)
