He went down swinging, trying all the new cancer experimental treatments. I never thought Keith Richards would outlive so many of the older rockers.

I figured Richards would be done by now too. Another one that gets me is country star George Jones, he's still kickin', and his former wife Tammy Wynnette(sp?)that always worried and harped about his "habits" killing him is dead.

"Hope I die before I get old" The Who. Keith Moon was the only one from the Who that must of meant it.

Do you think these "rockers" will be on stage jammin' when they hit 70 ?

How about our generation ? Will we be having rock concerts and burning weed in the rest homes ?

What will the baby boom generation be like when the bulk of us are retired ? I can see a whole new round of 60's style activism once most of us get the kids raised and retire. But I think it may be a more reasoned and effective activism.

I also wonder if many of us will stay in the U.S. when we retire. There may be some sort of senior citizen Peace Corps developed and retirement money goes a lot farther in other countries.

Or I could be wrong. Idealism may die as we age.

George Harrison was the quiet one and he was the spiritual one.

Has anyone checked ebay to see if sellers are listing his albums and pics, etc? Seems to be the way it goes with celebrities that pass on.

All those poor souls in the resthomes now are sitting in their rockers zoned out on prescription meds.

We will go to one of the Rocking Rest Homes and get the bands and the weed.

lol

Thanks to AW for allowing us this "off the subject" thread.

George was my favorite Beatle. We born within a month of each other. We both had serious cancer. I hoped that he would survive. But at least we still have his music.

One thing I know, there will be a lot of old ladies with 36C's that don't sag! Should be very interesting.

The Beatles were a guiding light in my early childhood. Thanks so much for everything, George.

The picture is a good memory to have. With all their fame and fortune the Beatles remained very "real".

denisv, I hope you are doing well now.

I am bumping this as a year has passed already. I thought it was worth remembering..... the music lives on.

And twinsoft's picture is still here. Thanks again.

Whoa, whats going on here. I didn't post this, in fact I was in NY Saturday & Sunday at a Christmas party, visiting friends & was not even on line.

Sorry to confuse you, mcjane.

I bumped this thread up and that really was you writing one year ago if you check the date.

I'm glad to see you haven't changed at all in the last year. Come to think of it, neither has Keith Richards.

Kiara:
Thats so funny, I never looked at the date & was wondering why all the talk about George Harrison as if he just died.

For awhile I thought I was going crazy & maybe just dreamed he died a year ago.

I have no recollection of that year old thread or posting on it.

We have something to look forward to when we get to the "home" & will probably eat or laugh ourselves to death & that's not a bad way to go. I'm all for it, lets go.
