Someone posted about a NS article on auctions or ebay - it sounded interesting. I tried the link in the posting, which didn't work for me.

So after getting the freebee 7 day signup, I went looking in the archive. Didn't see it there, nor in the current issue, nor in the previous. What was the title of the article or what was that link again, please?
Terry

Here it is again:

I'm not sure how to do links here, so maybe somebody else can "linkify" it. Otherwise, just copy and paste it.

Thanks, Holdenrex!

This time I was able to find it. Looking at it from the perspective of the seller it seems that:

1. Auctions that last longer attract more business - wonder whether this justifies the price hike for 9 day auctions on ebay is debatable.

2. Having your auction end a) on a weekend and b) in the evening is a good idea - think I'm going to change to ending 7pm Sat. instead of or maybe move them to ending Sunday night. All this for an extra 2%!

3. Images get you and extra 11% - I'm already doing this - but we all knew that, right?

4. Being an experienced seller gets you more bucks - that's why we're all here, right? Run them ebay ratings up! Wonder if they studied seller ratings in detail like number of negatives.

Terry

Postscript - using that link and names in the NS article, I came up with a better one I think. It quantifies those ideas a bit more. Here's the link to Informs Online.
