Every time I view an auction, then hit the category link that it's listed in (top of the page), Netscape freezes up and I have to reboot.

I think I've seen threads on this before, but can't remember who I should rant and rave to... eBay, Netscape, ISP?

Just out of curiousity, do you have the latest Netscape 6.2? I downloaded a new copy a couple weeks ago and it seems like those pesky freezes where the entire machine was hosed have gone away.

Hi There!
After reading the boards I was begining to beleive Netscape was the perfect browser for Ebay. I was thinking of getting it for ease of working on ebay since AW doesn't support Ebay Motors. But it sounds here like Netscape is no better or maybe even worse that IE. What should I think?

I am still using Netscape 4.7 because I couldn't stand 6.0. It seemed way slower.

doormat:
Why are you using 6.0 did you upgrade to it,or did you buy a new computer with it installed? If you up graded maybe you should delete it and step down to 5.01 or 5.5 IE.
When 5.5 came out I installed it,nothing but trouble, when they came out with the second patch I reloaded and it works fine. New items from MS don't seem to work well, when they work out the bug's the second patch seem to be good. When they offer the second patch for 6.0 I'll give it a try and more than likely be happy with it, till then I'll stay away from it. The reason I responded to this thread was till now I thought Ebay was set up for Netscape but if people are having trouble then I guess it's not!I'll just stay with what I have it seem's to work just as well.

dad> I downloaded 6.0 when it first came out. I hated it. So much slower than 4.7.
The thing is, I remember the nightmare I went through when I upgraded to 4.7 and I just haven't been in the mood to spend an entire weekend trying to figure out what to do to fix the problems that will undoubtedly occur. I have such bad luck with this. Okay, I'm a bit ditzy when it comes to this kind of stuff, but bad luck does have something to do with it.

I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet.

Where I used to work, I had access to the internet through both broswers, Netscape and I.E. I found Netscape to be a lot faster. The blue bar in I.E. just makes me want to pull my hair out and I've gotten used to Netscape lieing to me with those ridiculous percentages at the bottom of the page. Do they actually mean anything? And if so, what?

I use Opera for my alternative browser. You can download a copy from opera.com. Easy to use. I never have a problem with my e-bay revisions with Opera.
