I would like to bid on an auction where the seller does not list paypal as a payment option. When I emailed him to inquire if he takes paypal, he replied with this email......"paypal, billpoint, etc are combined now & refered to as Ebay
> payment credit
> >accounts, so I believe any charge method you care to use will
> work as long
> >as you have a credit acct set up with Ebay. You'll find out as
> you use the
> >"prompts", the responses will let you know if your charges are
> being
> >accepted."

If this is true, I was not aware that Paypal was included in with ebay payments accounts......anyone shed some light on this......

It was news to me too......I hadn't heard of it and couldn't imagine ebay including any other online payment systems that ebay doesn't reap some of the benefits from buyers using.......

The seller is confused. Billpoint and Paypal are two different companies. You can conclude from the seller's answer that he does not offer Paypal, only Billpoint.

In the topic PayPal JUST Busted ME!! I made the point about how important it is for sellers to offer both services, that there are buyers who only want to use one service or the other. This topic here is an indication that I am correct, the buyer desired to use Paypal, not Billpoint.

eBay changed the name of Billpoint to eBay Online Payments by Billpoint.

Sounds like you have a confused seller.

PayPal is still PayPal. You can not make a PayPal payment through Checkout at all.
