I got the Christmas present I asked for a "Sony Mavica FD87" I am slowly figureing it out. The one thing I do not see how to do is if you take a picture sideways-horizonal(like a Christmas Tree) and try to turn the picture around-vertically. I don't see a option to do this. I take a lot of pictures that way such asclothes on mannequins. Any Help/suggestions would be appreciated.

I have the Sony Mavica FD73. Photo Studio is the program that came with it. When looking at the picture you can hit transform, then 90 degree and it will turn it for you. You may have a different program but I bet it has somthing like that on it. Mine doesn't have a way to this this with the camera itself that I know of. Of course that doesn't mean anything...could be I've just not seen it.

Hope this helps...but if not just wait a bit someone a lot smarter than me will post the answer you need.

Hi, I have a FD87 and in the ArcSoft PhotoStudio edit program, you select the photo, click TRANSFORM on the toolbar, the window will come down, click ROTATE, then the degree usually 90 if your right hand is high when taking the photo. What I did was use a picture and try everything on the toolbar to it just to find out what it did. Under EDIT on the toolbar there is UNDO and you can undo the last thing you did and do something else. Good Luck.

I use Photosuite as my editing program and it also has a rotating button.(The rotating is in 45 degree increments) I am sure most editing programs have it. I also edit out the junk that is around the picture so you can't see the mess my ebay room is.

Thanks for the help on the rotateing the picture I now have that figured out. (two cherries with a arrow)I have (photosuite software). Now how do you crop a picture to elimate the messy background? I can crop the picture and move it around but I can't find a button to make the part I crop full size (blown up)and get rid of the background ?

There should be a tool button that lets you select portions of an image. There's usually different types of this tool, so make sure you choose the tool that lets you select a rectangular portion of the image (mine shows up as a square made of dashed lines). Then just click on the image at one corner that you want to crop, then drag to the opposite corner. Select "Edit" on the pull-down menu and choose "copy." Then go back to "Edit," and tell it to "paste as new image." Save the new cropped image.

Note that I don't use Photosuite, but this is a common feature in photo editors, so I'm sure you'll be able to do it.

Hi- I have photosuite and the only thing I can tell you to do is go to the help area and select edit and go from there. I just tried to tell you how to do it but it probably will take me all of the AW board to explain it. This is a really easy editing program to use. I am not to good trying to explain things in writing. Showing is so much easier. It probably will take you about and hour or two to play around with it but remember even though the Mavica puts the image in a Jpeg mode when taking your picture that when you crop your picture you have to do it again or it will go back to the large picture. Try it for awhile and if you are stuck on something that I can help you with, post again.
Good Luck

Is this "THE" digital camera to buy? What are the options/features that everyone really likes about it? I am looking to buy a digital camera and have no clue as to what to get. Thanks!
