Does anyone use Endicia? How do you indicate that insurance was paid for? I select it and print the labels, but do I need a form to fill out, or do I need to write "insured" on the box?
Thanks,
Christine

If you are still using the postal insurance than you must fill out the form & bring it inside the PO.
BUT...
You can use an outside service like U-PIC
(www.u-pic.com) & not have to do that.
(U-pic was recently sold or purchased & the name has changed but the site is still there)

I pay the insurance cost at the time I print the postage. To do this - click print, click postage options, click on insured mail, check the insured mail box, type in the amount you are insuring for. I hand right PS FORM 3813 ( I got a pad at my PO).
My PO requires me to wait in line to get it stamped. They are correctly agruing over whether or not the package itself must be stamped. Some of the clerks, weight it, and go through it all print over my slip, and put a zero postage label on the package. Other clerks simply stamp my green slip and I am out the door.
I seriously am considering UPIC but I have asked them several questions and can not seem to get them to answer them. It seems like they are giving me answers to questions I did not ask. One responds every told me to READ THE WEBSITE! I thought that was rude as if I could find the answer there I would not be asking. Does anyone use another insurance company?

Wow! I had no idea!! I've been just printing the extra insurance from Endicia, and not putting on a label or anything. Bummer about having to stand in line!! I mean, what's the point of printing postage yourself if you have to wait in line?!
I'm going to have to look at that web site and see if I can print my insurance that way.
Thanks!

1. If you print your own postage or pre-stamp your packages, your transactions go quicker. The stares from people behind you turn into amazement as your thirty packages are processed faster than the person next to you with three packages. They want to know rates, what insurance is, blah blah blah...
2. Delivery confirmation is free with USPS Priority.

OK, true . . . but I like just running in and dropping it off. I have a 2 year old that hates waiting. LOL

NOT all PO make you wait. Some will let you go to the back and drop of at the bulk mail center. BUT you still must get the green slip (under $50.00) stamped.

I just called Endicia to see who they recommend, and they are going to join up with U-pic, hopefully within a month, so it will all be automated. No waiting in line!!

Hey is this true???
I've been avoiding U-PIC because of the high cost of start-up. I don't do all that many packages & getting a phone number from everyone seems a bit difficult.

That would make things MUCH easier if they worked together!!!
I am looking forward to this!
Now if I could only get the boxes to process themselves......

We are *very* close to integrating U-PIC with Endicia. A beta will likely be available next week. Folks who are interested in testing this new version can email me directly.
