I got ripped of for $1050 on a Star Wars collection that I bought. Have of the items were missing and the other half were junk. The seller wouldn't fix the situation and I filled a postal mail fraud claim but haven't heard anything back yet. The item was payed for with paypal. About 300 of it was paypal balance and the rest was with a visa debit card. How would I go about doing a charge back on this? Also is there any time limit?

you need to look into paypal buyer protection program and visa debit card chargeback policy.
i think debit card and credit card chargeback policies are different.
a few things you need to consider when evaluating what to do-paypal often say they do not get involved in quality or content issue, you say junk,he said good stuff??who is to know??
second paypal could tell you you may be right and they will do something like getting your money back, there is no money in seller account, see while we talk, your seller could have withdrawn the fund from his account already.
if you cannot get hold of paypal, you should waste no time and get in touch with whoever issue your visa debit card.

Hi, I think all you can do is file a complaint With paypal.

I do not think that you can do a chargeback on a debit card.

You should file your complaint now, as this all takes time.

Just wanted to add that you could try to speak to your bank about this and see if they can help you out.

Be sure that you return said item, and keep all proof. Best of luck.

there is another thread somewhere a buyer said she called her bank and they reversed the charge on her debit card.
now i see why paypal credit card service is so bad, they are just way OVERLOADED WITH WORKS,as long as ebay does not clean house, paypal will never rest.
it will soon come to billpoint ,just watch

what do you mean half of the items are missing-are they missing like not there ?or are they missing parts like arms and legs??
if seller has a picture of what is in the collection for all to see,and he said sold as is,you bot it,well??

I think I'm the poster who had her bank reverse the charge. I also paid a little with my paypal balance and the remainder with my visa debit card. I filed the complaint with paypal and was denied. My item was counterfeit so it was a quality issue and buyers are NOT protected on quality issues. I returned the item to the seller twice and both times she returned it to me as "refused". I called my bank and I won the case because I had everything documented. I kept the emails from the seller and the box that was marked refused. I also had the copy of the auction with the description. You won't get your $300 that you had in your paypal balance but you can get the other back. Also, you can file a fraud report and file for insurance with ebay and maybe get some of that additional $300 back. I hope this helps.
