Howdy All,
I have been reading posts about sellers linking to another sellers pictures and I just can't believe it.
I am not too puter savvy and would like to know how I can find out if someone is linking to my images? How can I stop them? If anyone could explain it to me I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Chackett

I don't know how AW's image hosting works, so someone else will have to fill you in on that. But if you are using a third party web/image host, many allow you to view the raw web log files.

You can also browse your in particular category for the same items you sell and see if the seller is stealing your image. I've caught a few sellers this way.

I can not see anyone stealing a picture using the link. That's dumb as the owner can change the image or delete it. If you're gonna steal an image make a copy and place it on a free image hosting website and then link it to your auction or whatever.

I was amazed too when I read that thread today. I LOVE the way the "victim" handled it. Once I asked someone if I could use their image to supplement a listing I haad up, and they went beserk, telling me why I don't just copy it and alter it. Another time someone approached me and I said no problem (but I needed them to give me credit or refer to my listing--oh yeah, it was a James Dean photo and the guy said it was for his James Dean knockoff jackets; I had just listed mine as a one of kind photo so I needed that.

Shows to go ya'.

Hi

Right click on the photo and you should be able to see the link from whence the photo comes.

Just right click on the image and select "Save Picture As" and put it on your hard drive then load it up on eBay. Name it differently. If it is a common item you have saved yourself the time and effort to take the picture or scan the image.
