I JUST HAVE TO DO IT, TELL MORE PEOPLE THAT CANNOT RELIST ON E BAY. YOU DID ALL THE PROPER STEPS JUST TO END UP WITH IT NOT RELISTING. WELL I SAW THIS POST ONCE AND USE IT ALL THE TIME NOW. KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSED, JUST AN EXPRESSION MIND YOU. DO THE STEPS BUT WAIT!!!!!!!!! 3 MINITES BEFORE CONTINUING. FOR EACH STEP,,,,,,,WORKS LIKE A CHARM. OTHERS ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO EXPRESS THIER RESOLUTIONS TO THIS FRUSTRATING PROBLEM AND WILL BE APPRECIATED BY ALL, I AM SURE. IN THE MEANTIME, IT WORKS! I WENT THROUGH HELL WITH E BAY OVER THIS TO FIND THE ANSWER HERE. THEY GAVE ME EVERY EXCUSE IN THE WORLD. NONE OF THIER DIAGNOSIS ENDED UP IN RESOLVE. I WAS PAYING AUCTION WATCH TO RELIST. HOPE THIS HELPS OUT MANY. BEST OF SELLING.

richierich is one of the proponents of the "wait" and click method. I appreciate the fact that he was one of the first to say that it worked.

On the other hand, I don't have the patience.

Download Opera from www.opera.com. Install it. Revise listings on eBay - no waiting!

I use Netscape and I've never had to wait when relisting.

Actually, I learned the wait method somewhere on the AW boards. It has been a life saver for me. WORKS EVERY TIME!

Now, if only I knew the solution to the freeze up problem I get on ocassion when using AW. Seems it happens way too much.

I use NetScape for relisting. That is the only reason I downloaded NetScape, to use for Relist.

But, what is Roadrunner??

My freeze up problem is not AOL. I have a DSL service.

RICH, THEY SAY YOU ARE THE FATHER OF WAIT. THANKS. BUT E BAY IS FULL OF IT. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH A DIRECT RELIST THROUGH THEM????????? WITHOUT THE WAITING? WHEN I FIRST GOT ON TWO YEARS AGO I HAD NO TROUBLE THEN ONE BRIGHT AND WONDERFUL DAY,,,,,,,

Jack - I use the WAIT method to revise auctions. I relist using AW.

I am not the father of anything! I can not remember who told me about the wait method. All I know is it works for me, HEck I always have more than one window open anyway. And usually doing several different things at once.

I guess it's time for my two cents.

The problems with relisting seem to be /are possibly / may be (because apparently no one on eBay admits to it) related to the increased amount of JavaScript that eBay is using and the inability of various Internet Explorer versions - say past 4.0 - to handle it.

When I use Opera to revise a page, there is a counter that shows the number of KB downloaded and the amount of time in seconds. It takes a good 16 seconds - using a DSL connection - to download and fully render one of my eBay pages. There is all of eBay's stuff plus all of my html.

Somehow this mess confuses the heck out of IE. Opera doesn't seem to mind - that's why I like using it.

For the "system curious," I am using a home-built machine with 192 MB, Win98SE, IE5.5/Opera6.0, and DSL (from Verizon).

kahml: Can you have IE6.0 and Opera BOTH on one PC? I've looked into Opera but have been afraid to change browsers. Thanks for your input on this.

Yes, you can (have any number of browsers) on one PC! IE's version number plays no part.

When you install Opera, it asks if you want an icon on the desktop or in the quicklaunch area. I chose the latter.

Whenever I need to revise a listing, I launch Opera, go to eBay, and make my corrections. This browser does not ask if it will be the "default" - a tendancy that IE has when used on the same machine as Netscape.

Note: the "free" version of Opera contains display ads. I don't like them, but I put up with them for the few minutes I'm using the tool. To avoid them, you have to pay for the product. At some point, I probably will...

JWPC,
Road Runner is our Time Warner Cable Internet On Line Server. It is run threw a cable line and not a phone line. (No second phone to install)It is at least 10x faster than AOL was. I don't see very many other ebayers with the road runner email address. It must only be here in NY State areas.

I have to agree with the Opera users. My daughter ( a tech support mentor) recommended it to me when I was having trouble revising listings on ebay and it works like a charm! The problem is definitely a compatibility issue with IE.
