Apparently eBay will give your information out to anyone, and can suspend you for even potential problems.

Well-isn't this special!!! I spend enough time removing myself from unwanted spam lists-now it looks like I'll have even more spam. Why is it that everyone seems to know what Ebay is doing except for the sellers? They change their policies and at the last minute they tell us "Oh yeah! We changed our policy" and I love the statement by the so-called Ebay spokesman "If anyone is unhappy with the policy changes they can cancel their account", what the hell is that? Whoops! Better be careful. If I criticize Ebay they might suspend me.

I think eBay will use our info to generate more revenue.

Remember, eBay has just a few years to reach the $3 billion in revenue she projected.

I think I will turn in my competitors, they cause me to lose money.

Well this is just starting to really tick me off. I make a living on ebay and sure don't want my information for every Tom, Dick and Harry to get. This is ridiculous!!!

First the Featured items bomb and now this. When will it end??? When is ebay going to listen to us? Notice their stock is dropping.
Where else can we go to sell? I don't know of any other place that will get the number of buyers that ebay has.

What a joke!

I don't understand, if you do this for a living, get a PO Box for $40 per year, and get a voice mail number as well. You don't have to use your home address and phone number.

I picked one up at the p.o. for $20.00 a year. Sure comes in handy.

They may not allow you to register/update info anymore with just a PO box, they'll demand a physical address.

Hmmm, since ebay is watching, does anyone know an emoticon for The Finger. I wouldn't want them to misconstrue my meaning by using ambiguous wording.

The new privacy policy ranks with the worst porno sites on the net. eBay might as well come out and say they're selling our personal info. I noticed at the bottom of the page eBay stock dipped nearly 10%. If eBay needs to make a few extra bucks, they are going about it wrong.

I wonder if the change in terms means eBay can suspend someone who is attempting to interfere with another's eBay business.

Of course, you'd have to be dumber than a box of rocks to use eBay's email system to contact bidders and conduct a campaign of auction interference.

We're sorry Seller, but according to the new policy, you are only allowed to be as dumb as ONE rock. Other sellers may need to sell the rest of that box. You are taking away their business. Unfortunately, you have been suspended for (insert insane rule here)___.

Thank you,
EBAY

Now several thousand unwanted emails from the SPAM patrol.

antinoise1: Okay then, you'd have to be slower than a frozen mud flow to use eBay's email system to commit auction interference.

You might also be one taco short of a combination plate.

Definitely not the brightest bulb on the circuit.

You might be a few clowns short of a circus.

Or a few peas short of a casserole.

You could say she's 24 cents short of a quarter.

Or that she makes stupid look smart.

Hey! I LOVE the NEW NON-PRIVACY POLICY!...

It goes hand-in-hand with feeBay's ANTI-SPAM policy, which says:

"We are against SPAM! Nobody is allowed to SPAM you EXCEPT US, & we will FLOOD YA!!

Wow this makes me really happy I cancelled my ebay account. I just got fed up with the BS they shove down our throats, and this really pissed me off. I am still waiting for them to close the account, and they keep stalling! Yahoo may not be perfect, but they dont shove this crap on us.

Yet... Yahoo has Clintonesque ethics.

I don't really pay any attention to most of these policy changes. This one looks mainly like the eBay/Half overhaul and that's about it.

Dont know if anyone else noticed but under Restricted Activities section 6.2, I guess this is Ammo to dump power sellers who sell on Yahoo and their own sites as well as ebay"*****(aa) are prohibited under this Agreement; (bb) are identical to other items you have up for auction but are priced lower than your item's reserve or minimum bid amount; (cc) are concurrently listed for sale on a web site other than eBay's (this does not prevent linking to or advertising an eBay item from another web site); "
I may be wrong but.........

Taken out of context, that could mean just about anything.

You cannot " link directly or indirectly to or include descriptions of goods or services that.....are identical to other items you have up for auction but are priced lower than your item's reserve or minimum bid amount; [that] are concurrently listed for sale on a web site other than eBay's"

It has nothing to do with dumping sellers who also sell on other sites.
