I'm looking for an online bank to use specifically for eBay ~ I'd prefer just a savings account with a debit card access. Nothing fancy, no frills, no mints or lollipops necessary. I just want an online account to take care of eBay fee's, link to PayPal and BIllpoint, etc. Can anyone suggest me a good online bank? I'd rather hear from other folks who may have had experiences at a certain bank before I just dive in and pick one.

TIA

Use a local bank that has online services. Many do--they are reliable and accessible. If you need to set up a separate account for your online activities, do that.

Online banking is very useful, but I just don't trust a service that does not have a local presence when it comes to my money.

I tried online banking and did not like it. The most difficult thing is to fund the account. I ended up scanning checks in case they got lost, just too time consuming. This was before my local bank had online banking, and now I do it through them and LOVE it. I have all the advantages of an online bank, yet when I want to deposit, I have the bank around to do that too...

HAVE USED NETBANK FOR OVER A YEAR NOW...I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE! THEY CONTINUE TO BE HAILED AS THE BEST ONLINE BANK COMPARED TO ALL THE REST.

Definitely Netbank, free checking, $50 to open, and you get interest. And they give you postage paid envelopes to make other paper deposits. One hint, don't get the paper statement, they charge you $3 for that a month- Opt out.

I use the online access with my local bank also. I have a seperate acct. from my joint acct. with my husband. I agree that I am more comfortable with the physical presence of the bank I do business with. I think I might feel vulnerable transferring money from one virtual bank (Paypal) to another virtual bank (web based only.)

I use online banking with my local bank. My Credit union is also offering online banking at a deal price. You mentioned Paypal? Why not use them? Might be a little more $ but is an option.
Prepare for the worst but hope for the best!! Spuddy98

Katmommy - you caught onto my user name My daughters and I LOVE Hey, Arnold My favorite is Spongebob Squarepants, but hey, Helga is cool too

Anyhow, Thank you for the responses. I will look into Netbank. I can't use PayPal as the option for a bank, I want an account I can connect the PayPal and Billpoint accounts to. I have a personal bank for home banking reasons but I want something completely seperate, that has nothing to do with my home bank, for my eBay and online purposes.

Thanks for the responses!
