ebays recently? There was this powerseller, with 20000+, i dont know if I can post his user id, but the month of february, he listed over 3,000 videos, most of them rare, he claimed they are consignment items, and if you add the totals for all, he made like 90,000.00! But he started to get 20 negatives a day, he made his feedback private, and after getting 128 negatives in 4 days, he is NARU'ed! What I likie to know is, would anybody here know a messageboard that might have people who can talk to others who was ripped off by this crook? i talk to some bidders and they all told me ebays is turning the other cheek, but isnt 90,000 dollars make this one of the biggest scams in ebays? Any advice would help.

Kinda off subject, but this is the second high FB seller that I have heard about going bad in the last 2 weeks.

I think what is happening is that the gravy train is ending.

I think the person you are referring too has been discussed in the link below.

Sorry I don't know how to post it as a link. Just cut and paste it into your browser.

That's a strong accusation to call someone a crook without knowing all the details.

Sounds like he was caught in the middle of something, and the buyers, well, you know how they jump the gun. I really doubt he was out to rip people off. A power seller with 20,000 feedback, goes looney? sure.

a powerseller with such high feedback knows the ebay ropes,he is selling the same product category all these years and he should know buyer anticipation.
90,000 is nothing compared to two other sellers who scammed 1/2 million.
a powerseller can have many pictures and item description saved somewhere say aw?? and launched them to rake in some good money even tho the merchadise is long sold.
this is one problem of buying in cyberspace, how do you know the seller has the goods, read his past feedback, sure ??it does not guarantee his future performance?
i really believe with stakes getting higher on ebay, ebay can no longer say it is just a venue, some of these sellers have made very good money selling on ebay, ebay can sure afford to ask them for say?? a good faith deposit?? a rolling daily sales reserve??

When I buy off of E-Bay I pick someone who isn't a PowerSeller to buy off of except for a few. There are some powersellers that are great and I always buy from,I buy all my shipping supplys that way. These people give nothing but great service.

I don't know about this guy, but I can tell you that my PC went down and it took almost 2 weeks to get back up and running. During that time I recieved three negs (deserved negs since they didn't read my me page and did not know I was without a computer.) Sometimes things do happen that are out of our control. Have you pulled his contact info and called him?

computer problem??
a power seller with such sales volume and high feedback ,one would expect him to be RESOURCEFUL.
he could have a staff with more than one pc.
kinko is 6 dollars an hour,a respectable rate a power seller can afford to pay for use of a pc,how about cybercafes, public library, friends and relatives.
i just returned from asia,i used pc provided by hotels (fee or free),public library, internet cafe, shopping mall information centre etc.
usually there is a small fee involved, thats the price we pay for running a business.
compusa has aol demo on their floor pc,you can use it free.i am sure bestbuy has it too.

ironking,
what do you mean when you said-for this seller mentioned he is selling on behalf of ebays on ALL of the auction!
ebay is a venue and has no inventory, most ebay bidders know that.
the stakes are getting higher every day,and ebay is still saying we are just a venue.someday we could all get together and literally flood that venue with virtual products -pictures we have taken many moons ago and we dont have the items anymore, and start the bid riculously low at say 99 cents.
99 cents for hope diamond,99 cents for laptop, large screen tv,99 cents around the world cruise,99 cents for 100 troy ounce golden nugget, the giza pyramid, river nile, king tut tomb, roman toque, celtic chalice, picasso paintings ,all you ever want on that wonderful venue,FREE SHIPPING TOO ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.

Too bad they made their feedback private-- 130 something negs. Sheesh! Forget what I said in my earlier post-- this guy is a bad apple.
