Has anyone been using the c2iT payment method, and what is your opinion? Is it worth it for buyers and sellers?

Thanks,

Carl

Hello
I have PP and BP and one other but when I tied to sign up for c2it they wanted a water bill or some such etc. I was not impressed. I passed and have not missed it

It took almost 2 months to sign up, but I finally made it.

Now, after including it as a payment method for over a month, no one has bothered to use it.

I change my listing templates next month - it's coming off then if there is no change.

I had no problems signing up at all..I think they had issues during start up but I've had no issues at all with customer service or payments.

I have used c2it for several months. I signed up with no problems. I'd guess three or four transactions have been paid for via c2it [out of a few hundred]. I see no problems with it; love the NO FEES; it's just not catching on with bidders. PayPal was first, and remains king.

C2it is great!! I had problems linking a credit card and they sent me a letter and called to make sure nobody was trying to tamper with my account. Great customer service open 24/7. I have just a few people pay me with it but have received $45. in referrals. And now I can use my Visa to pay for shipping and pay my Visa bill with my c2it payments. I wish everyone would use c2it. Once you get over the initial sign up it is fast and easy.

I had no problems w/the c2it site myself, but have heard others complain. I take all sorts of payment for customer convenience. I've had only a few pay w/c2it and have yet to get a single referral bonus....just like paypal i guess!LOL

After a slow start, more and more buyers are using c2it. My only complaint (and I can deal with this) is that c2it doesn't give you all the auction info (item #, title, etc.), but the email address of the buyer is right there and has always been the same as the email address listed on ebay. The referral fees I have received have certainly more than made up for any detective work
I might have to do in the future to match buyer with payment!

Transfers to my bank account are completed quickly.

Maybe more people are using it because I removed PayPal as a credit card option option!

The other credit card options I offer are Payingfast (have yet to receive a payment through them) and BidPay.

Most BidPay payments are from international bidders, but I've had more than 10 US bidders pay through BidPay, too! That always surprises me, but maybe it is just easier for them to pay through BidPay than go out and buy money order. I accept personal checks, too, so the domestic buyers who use BidPay will always remain a puzzle to me, but maybe they just want to pay with a credit card. Who knows? As long as they pay me!

Bottom line: c2it's service seems to be getting better. It's been more than a month since I had a buyer tell me they have had trouble signing up with the service. I'm very happy with it.

If you want your funds sent by check, they charge $3.00. Will not use again.

C2iT is a fussy site which does not work with all web browsers, and their sign up procedure is the most complicated I have encountered.

That coupled with a poor auction interface which makes it necessary to have the training of Hercule Poirot to figure out what the sender's payment is for has dissuaded me from offering it.

When Billpoint began, they were very picky about who they would allow to apply and it has never recovered from its initial mistakes.

C2iT started off badly, continues to bumble in the signup procedure, and will never be a real contender until someone in that monlithic mega bank takes some time to understand the ebay process. Both buyers and sellers need a smooth and easy flow from signup to payment.

READ THE TERMS CAREFULLY!!!!
I had a customer pay me via C2iT the other day and while grumbling about it I figured I would go ahead and sign up to get the money. Thankfully, I read ALL the terms of their service and was amazed at one item in particular that made me cancel my sign-up and swear to NEVER use them, ever.

They have a paragraph that seems to state that you consent to give them the right to go into your bank account or c2it account and take money out at will to pay for ANY OTHER CITIBANK CORPORATION RELATED DEBT, without notifying you until days after the fact!!!!

It seemed to imply that if you had a citibank credit card and owed them payments but were behind, they could zap the funds for that debt using the online service and you would just have to deal with it!

As a long former citibank customer who once had some financial troubles during a divorce years ago, I can tell you firsthand that Citibank and Sears were the two most aggressive, nasty, ruthless, and nonrelenting companies to deal with during a financial hardship and the last thing in the world I would ever do is give them free access to my money unchecked...
(just my 2 cents on the subject)
Eric

i've been trying to sign up since 3rd january, I wish it would finaly work,
I'm loosing so much on fees
i tried it with MS explorer and netscape,
have all settings corretly and
even the call center person
agreed, but still no luck,
each time when I sign up with Netscape,
I can read their Java code with the error message so that might be an indication that they are not too safe, (since they want your SS #)
but i never got a call from their support back yet (over a month) so I dont know
what the problem is....
hate the 8 days registation wait....
hopefully it will work tomorrow

I have had no problems with c2it and I have had 4 customers sign up making me 20.00 dollars richer. The 2 times I have had to call to ask a question and they were very polite and helpful and I understood what they were saying.
