First, my aucitonwatch account name is not my ebay user ID...

Anyway I buy and sell high-quality designer items. I take them to the local boutiques and have them authenticated before listing on ebay. In the past 6 months or so, VERO has ended 3 of my items but allowed one to be relisted as it was found not to be in violation. I didn't argue about the other two, but VERO got back to me and said that my actions were "satisfactory" and that "no other action is necessary". ANyway today I got a letter from safeharbor saying that my account is "...under review for suspension..." what the heck does this mean?!?! I am a powerseller, have been selling and buying on ebay for over 4 years and I have over 1575 positives with only one negative. I sent a letter to safeharbor explaining myself, but can they really do this??! PLEASE HELP! Thanks!

Consider yourself lucky you're dealing with ebay and not YaPoo. YaPoo canceled my auctions and terminated my account permanetly without warning and no detailed explanation. I didn't get a review. Took me 14 emails to get a human response which basically said too bad so sad.

If anyone has the following YaPoo services: an email account, does their bill paying, account management, has a Yahoo store, or website hosted by Yahoo could have that all vanished overnight, permantely, and without just cause or review. My high YaPoo feedback is also gone, as is my YaPoo PayDirect account.
There is also a chance ebay, if they suspend you, will let you back after serving the suspension. YaPoo won't.

Ebay was kind to let you know you're under review for suspension, which means they are determining if you violated some rule or VERO.

dbldkr: Sorry to hear about your problems with Ebay. I am currently having problems with Ebay and the Vero program. Please see the thread marked Ebay Vero's Program for my problems.

What did you have to provide to the Vero program/Ebay in order to be able to relist your auctions? Did you have to send them a written statement with your signature stating your items are legitimate?

"I take them to the local boutiques and have them authenticated before listing on ebay."

I believe you have been most fortunate to have escaped the VERO folks as well as you have.

From reading here for the past couple of years, I have seen more than once, folks that have gotten tangled in the VERO web.

Most designers will not accept anyone authenticating their items but one of their own. They will ask you to send them the item and they will look it over. If it's authentic you get it back, if it's not, you don't. Then your asked where you got the item.

There is a lot of conterfieting in this area and the designers hire folks to ferret out dealers who may be purchasing items from conterfieters and then they go after the supplier.

Maybe eBay has a flag that goes up after a certain number of auctions are VEROed????

Hopefully someone will respond to your email and give you an opportunity to tell your side before deciding your fate.

Good luck hope it works out for you.

HI! My items in question are Louis Vuitton. I take ALL of my items to the Louis Vuitton Boutique at the Short Hills Mall in New Jersey. My brother lives 10 minutes from there so it is very convenient for me. I take them there, there is a specific woman who helps me, she looks them up in a book and says "yay" or "nay" and I would like to *think* that she knows what she is doing. Apparently not...? Thanks

I wouldn't sell LV if someone put a gun to my head. That's just begging for problems...

I list some Day Runners in the Women's Clothing/Accessories/Planners category. I know nothing about designer fashion but many auctions there just scream fraud! How do bidder think they can get designer items like these for pennies on the dollar? Anyone with half a brain can guess they're shipped in by the boatload from China. I only wish there was more eBay could do to crack down on these fakes. The problem is epidemic.

That is not to suggest that your particular items are fakes.
