Hi! I received this message from PayPal which I found to be extrememly suspicious. I followed the link and the page was not available. It really seems suspicious - could it be a scam?? Anyone else get this one?
Dear Sir,
We regret to inform you that due to system failure we have lost our backups of all accounts, so most of accounts are on HOLD status, including yours, if you want to continue our service without any trouble, then you are advised to please go to following Paypal.com page and enter your information, so that we can update your account information.
Please go to: http://www.paypal-inc.com (New window will open)
If you do not want to enter information, then your account will be automatically DELETED after 8th April 2002
We really appreciate your help in this mater.
Regards,
David John

This is a scam to get your Paypal account info so your account can be depleted of any funds. It is well documented.

That is a scam. Never click on the link in an e-mail like that one.
Logging Into Your Account
When you log in to your PayPal account, be sure that the website's URL always begins with https://www.paypal.com/.
The "s" in "https://" at the beginning of the URL means you are logging into a secure page.
If the URL does not begin with https, you are not on a PayPal page.

More scam artists at the gates. No doubt we will see another post in a few days as to how their account has been hacked.
Two tip offs:
1. No s following http to indicate secure site.
2. Takes you to paypal-inc.com, not paypal.com

I knew it! The tip off for me was that they were going to delete my account if I didn't respond within 2 days.

If you clicked on the link, you might want to go ahead and change your PayPal password just to be safe.
I'm no 'puter whiz (I'm doing good to get my on in the AM, and I'm not sure that information can be gotten just by clicking on a link but I'm paranoid too so I'd change my password.

If they had lost all your account information, they wouldn't have your email address anymore. Also, how can they delete an account if they can't find it?
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

I just went to the site to see what it looked like, and it was gone.
That one got shut down fast!
Anyone else remember the paypai.com scam from last year? Same situation, I'd guess.

I have tried to log into PayPal and keep getting this big blue box about security. It indicates to click on "no" box. Still can't get in... Has any one checked theirs today?
I havent been online for a while,Have I missed something? No emails from PayPal about any changes..
