I was just invited to become a Powerseller. My reservation is that we are entering the summer months and Powersellers are required to sell $2000 per month. If you don't meet your quota are you instantly demoted? Is it a title that would generate more sales? What are your thoughts everyone?

they will give you months(3) to catch up with your sales quota.
there is really no benefits to being a powerseller ,it does not make people want to bid more or bid higher on your items, some think it may lead people to stay away from you as you may be a fat and happy dealer who makes too much money on ebay.
you do get your emails answered promptly though by ebay customer service.
you get newsletter for powerseller .

I've been a powerseller for over two years. I can't say that it's helped my sales but it
sure hasn't hurt them any.

I see post all the time about slow sales on eBay. This could be for many reasons i'm
sure, but my sales have always been steady.

The one benefit I get from being a powerseller is faster response to email. Most
responses are within hours and they are not canned ones. Follow-up responses are
just as fast. I've noticed that the response time has been much faster lately. Maybe
eBay hired more personnel to fill this void.

I'm happy to be a powerseller because of the above reason if for no other. Try it,
you'll like it and you can always opt out of the powerseller logo if you want to and
still be a powerseller.

may be they are answering emails faster because there are less powersellers these days.
i notice many sellers are listing less, past years some of these sellers list 1200-5000 items in 30 days.
do you think DODO BIRD will sell well on ebay??

Well whatever the reason eBay is answering email faster is irrelevant as far as i'm
concerned. All I know is I get timely responses to my email to
[email protected].

Another good thing about being a powerseller is that all your email to eBay is sent to
[email protected]. You don't have to send it to timesensestive, safeharbor or
any other place. They let you know that they will send it to the appropriate person. They do so and you get an answer. So, you don't have to remember all the different places to send email for help. This is a timesaver and time is money.

I have been a Powerseller since the program began. I don't think it has hurt my sales and I do like the fast response to my emails. I left a Negative to a deadbeat the other day that made them -4 feedback. I sent eBay an email bringing this th there attention. I looked an hour later and they were NARU. Saved me from a retalitory negative I'm sure.

Anyone who gets the invite should definately accept.

It puts you on the list of Ebayers worth responding to if you ever email them needing help.

You don't have to put the logo in your auctions and you don't need to mention you are one in your adds either if you choose not to.

Accept the invite by all means......

I was invited every month for probably the last 6 months or so, and have asked myself the same question. This month I decided to join. The only reason I decided to join was because I was trying out a new supplier (one that I had sent 3 emails to and left 5 messages on the phone in the last month asking to reserve a load of their "widget" and when I finally reached a real person the sales lady was kind of snotty on the phone and said "you know we deal with a lot of ebay powersellers..our product is very much in demand". Suddenly I felt like she wasn't going to deal with me unless I became one. We'll see if it makes a difference in their eyes.

That would be a nice benefit. E-Bay's response time hasn't been that great in the past. I only e-mail when the problem is big.

Your vendor sounds strange. Optimally, everyone should receive good customer service. Many of my vendors don't even know E-Bay is a venue of sales for me. As long as you meet the minimum I don't see how it is their business. I would talk to the owner.

It sounds good, but It really means nothing. They do give you a faster contact email addy, but thats about it.

This is like where a company gives you a fancy title, but no pay increase.

To me it means that somebody can see that I am working my butt off. Bidders don't understand this, it is nice to know someone does. And the customer service means a great deal... I love being able to actually get my questions answered in a reasonable amount of time.

I was invited and joined Powersellers about one year ago.

Until ebay but the icon after the user id I NEVER displayed the powerseller emblem. Now it is displayed after my id only.

Does it make a differences to anyone? I don't think so. Do I get more/higher bids? I don't think so.

I think customer service is the key! My customers come back over and over again. It appears that they are willing to bid a little higher on my items because they know they will get it fast and as described. They know if they email me I answer.

Hi Daleeric,
I agree, I've never come across a vendor like this one before. I would go elsewhere, except that they have exclusive rights (so they say) on this widget. I haven't found another vendor that sells it yet. Everytime I try to call I get the same 2 people - no matter who I ask for because they deal exclusively with this widget at the company. I've even emailed her and explained that I'm a powerseller and want to order 1000 of these every month, but that was over a week ago and still no answer back.

That is a difficult situation. There is nothing like a little competition to make someone more humble. If there are the only place that sells this item-you don't want to make them mad by reporting the rep to the owner. If you do that you may never get your items.
