I had a bidder win an item listed on Ebay.
The auto notification keeps bouncing because the email address must be bogus.

Why does Ebay allow bidders to use a bogus ADDY? At this point I can't report bidder as non-payer.

What can I do?

Have you tried to register at eBay lately? Their computer seems to know EVERY bogus or free email in the internet. That's for buyers that do not want to use a credit card to verify with of course.
eBay users are constantly changing ISP's and not updating their eBay records. That is a common cause of bad emails as well as ISPs that have their mail service go down every once in a while ( previous post ).

Report this person to eBay.

Go to http://pages.ebay.com/help/basics/select-RS.html

Select "Member Problems" from the first box

Select "Contact Information" from the second box

Select "User is registered with false or missing contact information" from the third box

Click Continue

Scroll down and click Contact Support

Enter the other person's eBay ID and a copy of an e-mail that was returned to you.

Let eBay work for you! If they cannot contact the person, you will be able to file for an FVF within 10 days. Or, you'll actually get an e-mail from your winner (a miracle!)

hope that helps...

Quit using those automated end of auction notices. Try using your personal e-mail with a personal e-mail message. If it don't go through, wait a seven days to see if this guy contacts you. There is a good chance that this person will contact you in a day or two, once they realize that they won the auction. I have about two a month that this happens, and I would say that over 90% of them contact me. If not, then file a non-paying bidder alert, FVF after 10 more days and give a neg.
Good luck,

Speaking of "verification", sometime over the weekend I received a "24 Hour Verification Warning" from eBay ... seems they think there is a problem with my registration info. I checked it and it's 100% accurate.

But, as of now I am officially a non-registered member. eBay have told me I can get this fixed if I FAX them a copy of a utility bill, my driver's licence or something like that.

As if eh

The thing is I am not, nor could I ever be a seller on eBay. I don't have any type of plastic money, and I AM..CANADIAN (can't be "verified" by them). I was a buyer only and had built up a positive feedback of almost 150 in 4 months with zero negs. My sellers never had a problem contacting me, they were all paid on time, and I received all items on time.

A sad part of all this is that when eBay suspended me, I had 19 high proxy bids all of which were canceled. Several of these were substantial dollar amounts and when eBay did their thing, the current high bids dropped quite a bit. eBay's action has effecively punished these sellers!

The saddest part though is that there are no errors in my registration info ... it looks like an eBay error, or, perhaps an attempt to grab more personal info about me ...

So, for all you fine eBay sellers who may have done business with me, sorry

RB- couldn't you set up an account with pay pal, you don't need plastic, you could just use a savings account with 5 bucks or so. Also had a buyer with this problem, the local 7-11 mini mart, sells credit cards that you pre-pay for, so if you wanted too there are ways around it. Good luck.

I guess I could get around this eBay policy, but why? I don't do any selling on eBay and the people I have purchased from seem to have no problems contacting me. This is eBay's problem and they should fix it.

Besides, there are half a dozen eBay sellers whom I have purchased from who have no problem selling direct now that they know how fast I pay ... I don't really need eBay anymore. If eBay does this with enough of their good buyers, pretty soon there won't be any of us left!

As for PayPal ... not a chance with all the problems I read about them screwing people over.
