I am one of those that left AW, mainly because of all the scheduling problems they are always having -- the 2 day wait sometimes and the impossibility of ever launching an ad on free listing days.

But, the service I went to, which has no problem with these, has a horrendous way of handling auction ads. I never know what has sold, what has not, when it was last listed, etc.

With all the changes AW has made, can someone tell me what happens to the ad when it is not sold. Do they show you unsold? Do they keep it for relist as long as you want it there?

Does AW have a good setup for handling post sale emails (not automatic) I like to handle them personally, but send many at a time. The service I now use puts in totals including shipping and I save hours with post sale management.

But, I cannot live with the mess I have in the ad category. I have 137 unsold items and 500+ ads. I don't know what I have sold, what I haven't, what pictures go to what, it is a mess! I don't remember having that many problems with AW when I used them.

Anyone have any input on the service? It looks like I will either use AW or the Ebay system.

Thanks!
Linda

Being rather new to the AW system, I think I can answer some of your questions from the standpoint of 'I haven't had to just "deal with it" yet'.

After an auction is over, it goes into the closed auction area. It stays there, it seems to me, indefinately until you either relist it, or delete it. The difference between the sold and unsold is the fullfillment checkoff list will not be there and there will be no bids in the bid column. It make for pretty easy recognition. I don't know yet if you can use a different template for the email that is sent out for the system (custom template), but you can customize each one that you send out before sending it out. So that might work for you. I am finding the system very helpful. I have not had an instance of not being able to list something right away, except for the 2 weeks ago sunday, but that was ebay, not AW.

Blessings,

Thank you!

It is so scary changing services and starting over again. I want to be sure this one is better before jumping back in. I guess none of them offer everything!

I do love the templates and the clickable pictures here.

The service you get here is A/#1.
It won't take long to catch on.
And there is always someone to help!
And the price's can't be beat!
Of course some one will tell you different, But find out for your self! you've tried the other's.. It won't take long for you to figure out which is best!!

Sorry I rambled on:
You asked how they handle Closed auction's!!
They handle them terrific!
I have no problem going away on trip's or vacation's as I know all my customer's will be taken care of even if I'm not home!!

All I need to do is come home, Send out the item's for the one's that were paid for,and wait for the other's payment. It's like I never left home.
I'm right on top of thing's!!!

Lindajean: STAY where you ARE now!

I've tried just about all makes & flavors of auction-mgmt SW out there, both web- & PC-based.

NOTHING & NOBODY works as easily & RELIABLY as where you are now!

ASK yourself this very important "?"

HAVE YOU EVER EVER SEEN "PROCESSING,PROCESSING" THERE?

The answer is: NO!

tomwiii --

I guess I will have to do that -- at least for a while. It will cost double to move here and after careful looking around i don't see much change over what was here last year when I left.

I just love the templates here. I think they look so much nicer than the ugly ones where I am now! Oh well, you are right, at least nothing gets hung up in processing -- not even on fld.

edited to correct spelling!

lindajean- a couple of times a while back there were extremely devastating (to some of the bigger listers) periods when auctions couldn't get launched. Some of those folks are understandably irate about the "processing, processing" problem. For a few months lots of fixes have ocurred. It's now far easier to unschedule a listing. The stuck launches have happened for only a couple of hours a couple of times, and I believe remain to be priority #1 for AW staff. Meantime, they have responded to many needs, improvement of the invoice/mail label; great improvement in meeting scheduled launches; improvement (in my opinion) of the 1st PSM page. Something that users want and would sure help those with many pending and completed auctions would be search-sensitive use of the PSM keys, for instance flipping through the "no payment received yet" completed auctions. Sorry to go on and on, but it is a normal reaction for some of us to posts about how awful things were 6 months ago. Last point- very hard to find any staff anywhere as immediately available for help or problems.
