I purchased a bunch of craft magazines today, and when I got home, I found some of them smell really musty. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting rid of the smell? I hope I don't have to just get rid of the magazines!

Hi ~ Same thing happened to me with old catalogs and someone said to put Bounce Dryer sheets in with magazines .... in a sealed plastic bag for a week or so .... works pretty good but don't let the bounce sheets touch the pages ... found out the hard way .. takes some of the print away !! Now I make sure to put paper towels in between the bounce sheets and pages !

Put them in a large plastic garbage bag with crumpled up newspaper for a few days. Works for me everytime!

I've had great success getting stink out/covering
stink up using Potporri in a large box and placing the
items inside. You can get large bags of it for cheap
at craft supply stores. I'll have to try the newspaper
and dryer sheet tricks too. Good luck!

Thanks for great suggestions, I think I'll try the newspaper combined with bounce sheets first.

Put in plastic bag, dust with plain baking soda. Make sure the mags are completely DRY or you will end up with chunks of baking soda stuck on them.
