If you are not already signed up (As I am) and if you can continue to pay eBay about 200 up a month (Power seller) and what will we do with that $2.00?

I wouldn't want them "messing" with my checking account (at least that's my understanding - it would come out of my checking account). My ebay bill can range from $200.00 to $700.00 a month depending on how ambitious I am. I would be too afraid I would bounce a check on them. Thinking Meg would not like that

I agree, I won't be giving them my checking account info for a lousy $2.00-$5.00 discount. They seem to bill me on random dates and I can never be sure I'll have enough when they want it.

Sometimes they skip a month...

My records are hard enough to look after now.. I'd be dead in the water if they hit at just the wrong moment..and that is just my luck..

I have seen to many mistakes in billing to let eBay be able to take money from my checking account. In my 4 years with eBay I have had my credit card double billed, billed the wrong amount, and been told my credit card was expired when it was good for another year. It is much easier to get a charge removed from my credit card than from a bank account.

This also appears to be favoritism to large sellers that many were afraid would happen when the corps starting listing on eBay.

I think eBay should give the discount and $25 to anyone that uses the direct payment plan.

I pay eBay about $1000 per month. Soooo...they want me to give them my bank account info so they can save the credit card fees, and they're willing to give me a big ten bucks per month in return?

I don't think so.

So, if 1% is not enough, how much would be enough? 2%? 3%?

PowerSellers are starting to sound like buyers who complain about s&h. LOL

Why do they need to discriminate against the small guy. Why not offer a small rebate for everyone that pays their bills on time. Or how about getting rid of that stupid BUY IT NOW charge.

One percent would be just fine if eBay would simply deduct it from my bill, just before they charge my cc. What they're trying to do is avoid paying cc fees, and it amounts to the same as charging an extra 1% if you choose to use your credit card. I understand this is entirely legal.

It seems to me that if what they want to do is give a price break for large quantity purchases (that is, after all, basically what Power Sellers are doing) they should just do it. But that's not what this is...it amounts to a discount for paying cash. In that case, why shouldn't everyone who agrees to Direct Pay be given the same discount, not just Power Sellers?

caffeitalia ebay used the hard work of its small sellers to grow into the giant it has become, but along the way we were tossed out like yesterdays trash. I know they dont care about me so I moved to yahoo and never looked back. Now they are moderating the ebay boards like a bunch of thugs, and anyone who complains is shown the door. They can shove their nickel BIN charge too.
