FROM EBAY'S MESSAGE BOARD:

***Contacting Customer Support***

One of eBay's primary goals is to increase customer satisfaction, and decrease the time it takes for members to receive answers to their questions from Customer Support. One way to do that is for members to submit their questions via the Customer Support Webform, located in our Help section. This allows us to quickly route questions to trained representatives, thus cutting down on response time. It also allows us to provide instant answers to common questions.

Quite some time ago, we removed individual email address links to Customer Support from the site, because those email links were less efficient than the Customer Support Webform. To that end, the following email addresses will no longer be active, beginning May 15th, 2002:

[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

The Customer Support Webform is available regardless of whether a user is registered with eBay. Users will need to be registered only if they are accessing the areas of the form directly related to registered members.

Over the next few weeks, we will be making it easier to access the Customer Support Webform and will continue to work to make the form the most efficient way to find the answers to your questions on eBay.

Regards,
eBay

WHY CAN'T THEY JUST CALL IT LIKE IT IS?

So in english this means your question will be directed to a robot who will provide an instant canned email which will hopefully help you. Gotta love those bots.

I sent two emails to ebay for support, and both of them went unanswered. Then they had the nerve to send me a survey asking me about the support I had received. I replied in both that I had not received any email from customer support and that I felt the service was terrible. I still did not get an answer or an apology from ebay customer service.

So... are we really loosing support? I feel like I have never had any.

If you've never had any support (and I'm with you in that boat), then eBay can't take away what you've never had.

I suppose there are going to be a lot of unemployed people in SLC.

So here's what I'm wondering.

eBay is constantly cutting back on services that are not profit centers. (Anyone remember when there was a live person manning the Support Board at all times?)

As sellers, wouldn't it be wise for us to do the same? I see no reason (other than overblown customer expectations) to be firing off payment-received or item-shipped email. If they want that kind of fancy service, let 'em shop at Amzn, where such notifications are cheap because they are automated.
