I received two e-mails from ebay today, one at 7:36 AM EDT and the second at 4:45 PM, advising me that a "technical error" caused them to deduct my monthly fees twice from my checking account yesterday. Since this is not an interest bearing account, I don't keep very much of a cushion there, so I will very likely have another check or two bounce because of ebay's error. They said in the second e-mail that they will address on an individual basis the issue of bank fees caused by their error. Has anyone else gotten this e-mail?? I've been selling on ebay about 4 yrs now, and within the past six months I've had more problems with goofy bidders than ever before, and now ebay can't get their bookkeeping right. I'm about ready to start doing shows again.

This hasn't happened to us, thank heavens, but it seems to be happening to a lot of people. I saw a thread about this on the Ebay community forums. It's not only Ebay. This seems to be happening on a lot of sites lately.

the same thing happened to us last year and they never gave us one cent back---we got overdrafted at the bank too. By the time they said they would address the problem- we were already overdrawn.

Set up your acct. so they don't take it themselves!
Let them send you a bill.
And pay when you get the bill!
They won't pull it twice if you send it!!

eBay double charged my credit card one month last year but did remove the extra charge. Another time had me post a new credit card because the old one was expired. Then contacted me a few days later to tell me the original card was not expired. After this they wanted me to let them remove my monthly charges directly from my bank account. NO THANKS.
