3 week's ago I had an auction close.
All my auction's have a fixed S&H Fee.
Which by the way has gone up since the close of the auction.
Since then I have sent 2 WBN's,1 WBN reminder and have filed a NPB alert.
The person E-mailed me yesterday and asked: How much would the shipping be?
I wrote them back a told them the same as the auction stated, and that I would not raise it due to the increase.
Now mind you, I will lose a small amount at the old rates but, so be it.
They mailed me back and said they thought I should lower it because as they stated: ( It's unethical to make a profit)
Imagine that!
Don't that beat all?

Hi Dad,

Every once in a while you run into a member of the buncha jerks... The "buncha jerks" are a group of people whose sole mission in life is to give gray hair to eBay sellers.

I think they have tattoos on their eBay ID's but I'm not sure what they are... If I knew, I could stay away from them.

Just wait the ten days and see if they send the full amount. If they do, send the item. If they don't, file for your credit.

I don't believe I'd be a whole bunch interested in responding to any of their emails...

(ok, a bit of sarcasm there...) LOL!

Lucy

Get this:
They mailed me tonight saying when they bid they were in a hurry and never noticed the fixed shipping.
But now they are willing to pay the postage as stated in auction.
Also informed me they would send me a M.O. in 2 or 3 weeks!
Would you wait?
It was a whopping big $2.50 item.
And 6-7 week's to get the money together is pushing the envelope!!

These and similar posts make me laugh. Not at you. Just a good laugh.

Anyone here ever worked retail? I mean, really WORKED retail...as in dealing with the public on a daily basis?

I have. Fast food restaurants, traditional restaurants, department stores, and gas stations, to name a few. It ain't always a pretty sight.

One of my favourite memories is when I was working graveyard at a 24-hour ARCO station. (My hours were 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., btw.)

One night, a young man pulled up to the pump, asked for $5.00 of regular (this was back when regular gas was 26 cents a gallon, O.K.? And with triple Blue Chip Stamps for a fill-up!), and then headed off to the john.

I pumped the $5.00 worth and waited for him to return.

He finally did. He came out of the men's restroom holding up his hands like a surgeon needing to be gloved. His hands were dripping wet (I assumed/hoped it was just water).

He claimed that he'd had a $5.00 bill in his mouth while he was taking a leak, that at the moment he'd finished and hit the flush lever on the toilet the bill had "slipped" from his mouth and dropped into the toilet, and that he'd scrambled to try to grab it before it went down the tubes, so to speak (thus explaining his dripping hands). And, of course, that was all the money he had. And, because he'd "given up" his money at my station, he should be able to book along...because he'd technically "paid" for the gas.

Sigh.

I called the cops. (Hey, it was 3:00 a.m. and I was alone and younger than I'll admit right now.)

Cops came. Got the story. Sighed like I did. Told the guy he'd get his car when he paid the tab. Period.

I parked the car in the service bay. Locked it up. And the young man was sent walking down the street.

Later in the day, long after my shift was up, he came back...with $5.00 in hand. The station owner told him it would cost him $10.00 for his car...to cover the expense of storage and such plus the cost of the gas. The bozo paid (as he should) and left. I never saw him again.

Tales of retail life.

I just started a new position at work (museum) where I have to interact with the general public on sundays (before this I gave tours and taught classes only).
Mind you I'm the only soul in the place and people want personal guided tours, 50% off ticket prices because they had to drive more than 50 miles to see us, 25% insted of 10% off with their triple A card Etc. Plus the light fingered little snot kids ripping stuff off in the gift shop. Yikes! Next person I catch busting stuff or ignoring "national treasure" signs I swear I'll call the cops on 'em. Oh and leaving gang griffiti in the john (like that impresses the other bangers)
The more people I meet the more I think abortion should be retro-active until age 21.

Do your normal routine as far as NPB and FVF's and be sure to neg the jerk. We all need to see what kind of person if they should decide to bid upon our auctions. I am willing to bet the no one had the balls to leave feedback before on this guy so you have no idea what this person is about before hand. If every seller would do their job, we all could have shorter leashes with these losers.

This guy is a loser !!!!!!
Not to get off subject BUT,
Be sure to leave this guy a big fat RED NEG.
Today I did one for a buyer, gave all kinds of excuses, been a month.

Today they paid me on paypal not 20 min's later.

Am I sorry I did it, NO.

I sell alot of low dollar items, so I get a few and then I get a ton of the NPB, and I leave NEG'S for them all.

I want to be sure to warn the next seller, they MAY be waisting their time.

I waist enough time, I don't have any more time to waist on them.

Sorry to get off, But it make me made when a seller won't give a deserved NEG, when one is needed.

I think I'll sit back on the feed back for a while to see what is done on other end!
I've kept all Email's in case I need to get in touch with Ebay.
Everyone bounced back due to bad address!
If they come after me I'll get their A$$ canned for bad contact info!

I took a hit on some shipping during the transition, but so far all people are cool.
I did have one gal who has yet to pay, worse she has all this great feedback and its bigger than my paltry 24!!!
I was "radio silence" then I give her my:

I am following up to let you know that if I don't hear from you by ___ I will have to file for return of my fees.
I am not interested in giving any negatives, but I do want to get my fees back.
This means that there will be a warning on your ebay ID. Please let me know if you plan on purchasing this item.

So far at least it gets an email! One person paid, this gal has changed her tune from Paypal, to Money order. And that was a week ago...

So, to answer your question....Yes, I do!
:P

What is with everyone wanting to give negs to buyers for no reason?

ask a question, neg the sucker!

Voice an opinion, neg the sucker!

pay a few days late, on a $2.50 item?, neg the sucker!

complain about any step of the transaction, neg the sucker!

give less than glowing feedback to buyer, REALLY REALLY NEG THE SUCKER!!!

it the item were worth more than $2.50 or if there were a lot of bids, I would say to request payment within a specified time or terminate the transaction. If you only had this one bid, then relisting is definitely not worth it.

I would email them that payment must be received within a certain time frame and see how they responded.

Then, if payment was not received in that time, I would go the NPB, FVF route.

I once held an item for 2 months because the young man really wanted it but had a financial setback. He kept me updated on what was happening and we finished the transaction. Didn't hurt either one of us one bit and I now have a free room anytime I want to visit Chicago.

SAY WHAT "YOU" DID AS BRIEF BUT FILLING THE LINE AS POSSIBLE. ALL LOWER CASE OF COURSE. HAHAHAHA. TOO BAD. DON'T LET THE NEG BOTHER YOU. HAHAHHA. IT WILL BUT IT WILL GO AWAY IN TIME. 12 OUT OF 902. WRITE THE NEG THEN THINK AND WRITE IT AGAIN AND THINK, DO NOT WRITE IT AND HIT THE ENTER. THINK ABOUT IT FOR A FEW DAYS, THERE IS NO HURRY. DO NOT BE IRRATIONAL. WRITE IT AND THINK AND WRITE IT AND THINK. MAKE IT GOOD AND GET IT RIGHT. GOOD LUCK.

Why do you ask?
It was 23 day's.
He was informed on 7/7/02 if pymt. wasn't received by 7/14/02 I would file a FVF and leave feedback.
On 7/7/02 they informed me they would send pymt. in 2 or 3 week's!
That would have taken it into Aug.
I'm not waiting forever for $2.50 if that was not in their budget why are they on Ebay in the first place.
All my auction's are up front nothing hidden!
If you can't afford it or don't like my term's, do me a favor don't bid!!

I had one 2 week's ago I filed a FVF on.
yesterday I received pymt. I reversed the FVF and packed it, I will ship it tomorrow.

I'm easy to get along with, just don't like to be jerked around!

No problems, just getting my learning curve up to speed.
I agree, your bidder is a kook.

Japerton:
I've been doing this for a few years now.
My auction's state I expect pymt. in 7 day's
So far I have filed 20-25 NPB & FVF's
And have left NEG. for every one.
I file a NPB after 10 day's
I file a FVF 11 day's after that.
To date I have never had a retalitory Neg.
And they could have easily because I'm one of those who are nor afraid to leave feedback first!

This person was looking for trouble: Emailed me every 3-5 day's asking if I changed the shipping charge yet. I mailed them back every time saying I was changing nothing. I did offer a little help, I was willing to eat the price increase from the P.O. and on a $2.50 item that meant I was sending it for free.
If you need to file don't be afraid, just do what you need to do. Most people know they're deadbeats and take what they diserve.

Well I don't hesitate to do the NPB, FVF Negative thing if need be. In fact I have
seven negatives on my record out of 3661 feedback's of which 2872 count.

Today I filed five FVF's against one bidder and left five negatives after 35 days had
passed. More than likely i'll get five retaliatory negatives from this bidder.

This customer has 109 positives, 94 of which count and the only negatives are the
five I left. So if they want to leave five negatives for me so be it. Ebay built the
feedback system and I play the game the way I think they intended for me to play it.

The negatives were all the same which are factual: Bid, Won, Never Paid, Sent 2nd
Notice NPB/ FVF to no avail after 35 day.

If they leave me five negatives my response will be: Bid, Won, Never Paid, Sent 2nd
Notice NPB/ FVF to no avail after 35 day

I just don't worry about receiving a negative any more.

I file my NPB, FVF and NEG right after I receive payment. According to caffetalia, that is when I am supposed to do it.
