Was there a server outage or are the listings dropping really fast ?

I attempted to launch auctions tonight but it was impossible. One finally went through and I got the 'congratulation' message with the link to the auction. But when you click on the link it says 'invalid item.' I don't know what's going on!

The listings are still falling fast. The last time they went this fast there was a problem.

Isn't that about normal for a Sunday? If Sunday is a very popular day to have an auction end it makes sense that there would be a huge dip on that day.

My auctions ended yesterday, 10 days after one penney gallery. They won't go back up for several weeks now. Maybe others feel the same.

Looks like there's a lot of auctions ending tonight and Ebay has been slow for most of the evening. I've been attempting to do some relists and I just about gave up.

This may or may not be off-topic.

But did anyone think that AW first posted an announcement that they would be down 7/9 for maintenance? Then the next time I looked it said 7/8.

I wondered why they changed it (unless I just misread, or misremembered the original announcement.)

My first (optimistic) thought was that maybe eBay had put a bug in their ear...like maybe FLD 7/9...so they re-scheduled.

Of course, a lot of people do end their auctions on Sunday, but then it stands to reason that a lot also begin their auctions on Sunday. (Maybe not...maybe they do 3 or 5 day auctions later in the week.)

Reamond, what are the figures?

From Sunday the count fell 400,000, but it bounced back 200,000 in a matter of hours. My bet it was a listing problem with the system.

Last Sunday ( 6/30 ) it dipped 250,000. The penny gallery/10 day option could explain the extra 150,000. eBay always has listing problems.

i noticed on the daily charts there is a huge spike up at 6 or 7 am. What is up with that, is that when most people list?

If you will check ebay for the last 4 years you will see it is doing nothing but going up
I would like to see a chart for the number of ebay buyers for the same 4 years. Does anyone have any ideas out there.

So far this year ebay peaked in March and has been falling since.

Certainly appears to be doing SOMETHING other than going up.
