Is anyone haveing problems contacting buyers from msn.com? I had an auction close on July 2 and I just received a notice from the bidder as to why I haven't contacted them. This is what I have done. I emailed the buyer at about 1 minute after I received hers. No answer. I also sent the WBN that I sent on July 3 again. No answer. She wanted to pay by PayPal so I went to PayPal and sent her an invoice. No answer I then sent a reminder from PayPal. No answer. I called my ISP to see if my email server was having problems, they said no. I have done back flips, cartwheels and all to get to this buyer is there any suggestions? The price of the auction does not warrent a phone call to whereever she is. I didn't pull her contact info yet. If she would send her address I would mail the package but she doesn't do that. I hate auctions that don't go right. What a pain. Any suggestions welcome except to deliver the package in person and I can't do that as I have no address. Thanks

I've found that some bidders do not want the items that they won and they play games like what you have encountered. They can draw things out forever this way and blame their ISP email service. It's a vaiation of the 'I sent a check a while ago but I'll send another' and another till you give up and possibly end up with a retailitory negative.

I have seen some sellers give up and as a last, desperate measure, post a request in their feedback:

"Please send your address. Our e-mails do not seem to reach you"

There is no reason for her not to respond to the Paypal invoice. Maybe she gave a bogus e-mail?

Finally an answer and I think it was because I sent a PayPal invoice 2x. I don't like automated WBN's but maybe that is the way to go. I like the personal touch, but I am not a big seller so that I can do that.

Can't speak to msn.com regarding e-mail difficulties, but I recently ran into the same kind of problem with AOL.

Turns out that AOL has quietly "scrimped" on the amount of server space allowed for copies of incoming and outgoing mail. Once I saved everything to my Filing Cabinet and then made a habit of doing so regularly (and then deleting AOL-stored mail) the problem stopped.

As for non-paying bidders, eBay offers a "nag" service for such. If you use this "reminder" service and the bidder ultimately never pays, eBay will credit the listing fees.

I've found that the eBay "nag" service generally gets better results than a PayPal "reminder" e-mail.

Libra,
Don't leave us hanging. What did the buyer say, or did she just pay you and say nothing.

I am on msn & have had no problems for quite some time. There was a time afew months ago when the system crashed for about 6 hours, but nothing since then. I have both msn.com & hotmail.com. I had an inquiry yesterday on a piece of Indian pottery, sent pics & rec'd a reply this morning that the pics came through AOK.

Sorry, I had to make my thrift shop rounds.

She paid me and didn't say a word. I think it was from my invoice but I don't know how you can tell.

Love those buyers.
