Hi, all: I"m running out of self-seal bubble mailers and didn't keep records on where I got them 7 months ago!

I've done comparison shopping with 123pix.com and Uline.com for 100 10.5 x 16 mailers and 100 8.5 x 12 mailers.

Including UPS ground shipping, the 200 would cost an average of 37 cents each on 123pix and about 40 cents each on Uline.

Is there a better price anywhere??

On 123pix the base price for 10.5 x 16 was $30.93, and with Uline it was $38.

The big difference was the shipping cost! 123pix wanted $24.77 and Uline wanted $12.65. Go figure.

Have you looked at parrothead88's prices?

He lowers the shipping fees when multiple items are on one order.

Rather than use bubble mailers, you may want to try bubble cushion and seperate large envelopes. Serves the same purpose and way cheaper. I buy it at Office Depot.

I get items from ebay sellers that use only a manila envelope and bubble wrapped items and most of the time the envelopes are torn and in bad shape and I wonder why the contents weren't lost. A few pennies more makes a much safer bet that your auctions goods will arrive safely.

Nothing a little tape around the edges won't solve.

When I've run out of my supply of bubble mailers - which I've also bought for pretty cheap off eBay from various sellers, I also resolve to using the piece of bubble wrap in the manilla envelop also - and NONE of my customers have complained.

I guess it's how you pack the item. I only ship CDs this way - but I make sure to use one of the small manilla envelops and fold the excess of the envelop over the edge of the CD and tape it down. It makes for a more "solid" fit.

I just lucked out and got hold a HUGE box of small bubble wrap pieces from someone giving away "moving supplies". I was free to help myself and took it all! I won't be needing to buy any bubble wrap now for a REALLY long time!

The holes have all been in the center of the mailer when an odd shaped item is within the makeshift mailer. The sellers always seem to tape the heck out of the edges. When I see what mutilation the post office machines do these packages I always make a note to not bid on any more of the sellers goods.
I never tell the seller that the package was in horrible condition when it arrived and I bet most bidders do either. I have never seen a quality bubble mailer with bad damage but half of the home-made bubble mailers have a lot of damage if the hold an irregular shaped object. Flat items are always okay.

Yes a piece a tape down the middle helps too. I have shipped hundreds of items out this way and have yet to have an item returned or received any complaints. Tape edges, down the middles and any protuding edges. It works great. Saves tons of money too.
