I won an item 5 days ago. I sent off payment the day after I won. Seller's terms say that payment is expected within 12 days.

Today I get a "payment reminder" from ebay.

The seller initiated the payment reminder after 5 days.

I find this annoying and I am kind of angry now.

I have plenty of deadbeats, but I would never send a payment reminder until after the expected payment date.

He may have accidently sent it. I have done it myself. The purchaser email me wanting to know WHAT was going on. Send a tactfully worded message to acknowledge receipt of the message but explain, I MAILED THE MONEY THE DAY AFTER THE AUCTION CLOSED BY USPS. PLEASE RECHECK YOUR RECORDS TO INSURE AN ERROR WAS NOT MADE ON YOU PART.

Enclose the MO number.

But I have received a "payment reminder" message after paying for an item, and it did more than annoy me. I was down right upset & let them know it.

Remember "Tact is tha ability to tell a person to go to heck, and have them be happy to be on their way"

Is she/he a partime seller that might have been confused? Maybe she forgot she had received your initial email.

That's why I like keeping track through the AW system. I have done exactly that in the past and it is annoying to you and embarassing for the seller.

Could have been a seller who did as some above have stated.

I was thinking that maybe IF you hadn't responded to their EOA email, even though you had mailed your payment, the seller may have been concerned you didn't receive it if they hadn't heard back from you. If you did email them that payment was on it's way......nevermind

I contacted him about 3 minutes after the auction ended and asked for payment info.

He responded a little later and I sent it off.

After I posted here I wrote and asked the seller about the notice. It was not a mistake.

I wouldn't take it personally. While you contacted the seller promptly after the auction close, some of my customers contact me promptly, too. Fat lot of good it does. Sometimes that's the last time I ever hear from them.

Since our invoices are sent out automatically, we have considered sending a reminder after seven days, regardless of whether or not the customer has contacted us.
