Hi,
I have an antique Singer sewing machine. It was made in 1922. It is a model 128.

Everthing appears to work. The light comes on. It has the original case and box with accessories, including an oil can. It has a knee pedal(?) thingy. When I plugged it in everything started.

Any idea as to what this may be worth?

Thank You

Hi biskitsandgravie

You had the correct url. Just put [$img] in front and [$/img] behind it but take out the $ sign and it will work.

Here is another similar one:

biskitsandgravie,

Where was the machine made? Singer made the machines in several places; the ones made overseas bring the most.

Sadly the 128s are very common so they don't command much in the way of bids.

And 1922 is not that old as far as collectors are concerned.

have you looked for information on

Alan Quinn's Web site?

He is considered to be an authority both here and the UK.

I sold a pre-civil war sewing machine on ebay a couple of years ago.
Most of the bidders, and the auctioneer where I bought it, though it was an old jig-saw.
Guess they didn't see the needle in the arm.
If you want big bux for a sewing machine, look for the OLD ones.

Thanks for the help everyone.

My boyfriend purchased it for me. I don't know why since I have no interest in vintage sewing machines.

I hope he didn't pay too much for it.

Maybe it's a hint that he is trying to domesticate you?

First of all this is not an antique, but a vintage sewing machine. At one time s/m's of this vintage brought good $$, but with the advent of eBay, the price has gone down. Check the auctions as to what they are bringing. You didn't say whether this was a featherweight or not.

Actually it is a semi-antique sewing machine.

I said that the model was 128. The lady I spoke to at singer said that those are not featherweights.

Kiara, I am wild. He would have a better chance domesticating a Water Buffalo in heat.
