I had a lot left over when I changed to media mail or ups for shipping items. I took them to my local post office and they were happy to take them back -- it was around 200 of the large priority boxes.

Why would you want to waste perfectly good boxes?? Return them to the USPS. Ihave over 50 of the #7's & nearly that many 4's plus odds & ends of others. I was just thinking of taking a bunch back myself.

I also only ship by UPS and I don't ship internationally, but you'll need to hold on to a few of the boxes to ship to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. Possessions and APO/FPO addresses.
I had three such sales yesterday and today. I shipped a John Deere tractor seat (15 pounds) to Alaska last week by Priority mail.
I sold four cast iron shelf brackets (12 pounds) this morning that is going Priority to an APO/FPO address.
You won't need them often but you will need them unless you are just going to ship to the lower 48 states.

Take them to you local post office and give them to them. They'll be grateful for them as they'll be able to give them to customers, and it's the right thing to do.
I got the wrong type of boxes once and took them to the Post Office. They were very appreciative to get them to give them to customers.

That's great that you returned them. I moved 1000 miles last year, and had a huge supply - I took them all to the local post office, and they were very happy to get them. I then ordered more supplies after I moved.
