i had a lady purchase an item form me and hse claims she received it and it was completely destroyed. i told her to send it back and i would refund. she claims to have sent it back cod and received it back as refused. i never received anything from her at all nor did i authorize her to send it back that way. so even if i had received it i would not have accepted it. am i in teh wrong?! what should i do? i refuse to refund until i receive it back.

Don't refund! Ask for DC number and ask her to track it, Uh did she pay for insurance? If not this is why she is mad now that it is broken, sounds like a scam to me in other words I bet it made it to her fine if you packed it right, she just wnats it for free! I had one of these customers turned ugly as I tried to be nice, tell her as soon as it comes to your door you will let her know then figure out what you want to do,
check her feedback has she done this before? good luck.

another thought; how did she get your address did you give it to her? My customers only get that if they say they are paying by MO most use pay pal so I wonder...does she really have an address to mail the item back, sorry it just has scam written all over it.

Many factors involved: item value, did you insure, did you include tracking/delivery confirmation, shipping method and amount (USPS, UPS, FedEx Ground), her feedback history, etc. More info will bring you a better response/solution.

Personally, I would ask that she send proof via scan or fax of "COD denied" label. I haven't experienced a lost or damaged package, but have always been careful to cover myself w/extreme over-packaging, insurance and tracking should that occur. If you didn't insure, I suppose a claim isn't possible. If item is 20.00 or under, it's your call as to whether you insist upon return or send refund sight unseen to avoid a probable neg.

Good Luck!
NOT beachbound on eBay...

Check her closed auctions and see if she has bought a similar item from someone else. She might have you confused with another auction. That happened to me last week when a buyer wrote and said she hadn't received her christmas pin. Since I had DC on it I sent her what it said on the USPS Tracking page. I send all my packages with a DC. Costs only 13 cents 1st class and that 13 cents is well worth it. She wrote back and told me that she had me confused with another seller as we had the same first names. I wrote and said that mistakes will happen and I understood. Maybe you should ask her to describe the item to see if it is really yours. Good Luck

If she received the original package, it more likely than not had snObbish's return address on it.

i never gave her my shipping address so the only way should could have gotten it was if she received the package. thats if she really even shipped it back in teh 1st place. shes pretty much refusing any sort of proof by saying she never got any receipt or any proof of shipping it back. ive never shipped anything cod so im not sure what shed have.

anything being shipped COD is already being tracked...the post office would be requesting payment and possibly signature on a COD package....tell her to call her PO and find the package...only refund on returned items and I would be refusing a COD package anyway....you do not get a chance to see whats inside before you pay for it.
