In the old days, it was quite simple after I won an auction: either I contacted seller or seller contacted me. Now it is a nightmare. There are too many post sale options and sellers are apparently too busy to follow through with clear communication. For heaven's sake, at the very most, I just need your address and the postage.

As a constantly bidding eBayer, I'm having a heck of a time keeping track of who's who and what's what. Example: I won an auction. Postage is set forth in the auction description. I don't hear from seller. I contact seller with my address and ask for his/her address.

Seller responds with, "I sent you [some sort of] eBay [aftersale] response which contains my address." Well, no, I did not receive the eBay response that seller says he sent, or at least any response eBay sent does not mention seller's address. But seller still fails to send me her address. I mean: how difficult would it have been for seller to "repeat" the address in her email to me?

Or how about sellers who bully you into using paypal by not sending their address with the initial email despite a request for their address?

I could go on, but you probably know the issues better than I do.

Ease up sellers. Give me your address and postage amount, especially if I've contacted you with my address. I'm getting very frustrated and worn out trying to keep up with all of the contacts and miscommunications.

mjh2-If you find mine it will be easy for you to bid, win and pay for my auctions because I say. If you wish to pay instantly by PayPal click the logo at the end of the auction page but please remember to add postage. If you do that and I receive notice from PayPal I send the item out the next day usually by 1st class and you will get that in 3 days. I waste no time. I always state postage in my auctions so that buyers, if they want to, can pay by paypal.

Yes, I stand corrected. The scenario that you describe is one option that certainly lessens the confusion. Thank you.

Also, I've noticed recently that a few sellers are inserting a personalized sort of link to the UPS--all you have to do is type in your zip and postage is automatically figured. This option sounds good to me, since paying actual postage is my preference and has always impressed me as a savvy marketing tool.

Of course, its utility is severely hampered by the fact that UPS does not insure art under any circumstances. Or I should say, they will take your money to insure anything, but they will not pay out for art.
