anyway I did find this guy http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1788710522
just to remind me that ANYTHING sells.... I know you have seen better this is the first of the night what did you find?

I installed a cheap program from Proxyconn.com that is an accelorator for Dial up connections and blocks pop ups. Cost about $8. It solved the problem with popups and slow access.

the other thing you can do is set your computer to notify you when cookies are being inserted. Then just block the cookie. Its worth it to me to block all the cookies and that also stops pop ups. Only it will be a problem with online banking as they require cookies.

clean your cache also helps.

Thanks Green- I always need to be reminded to clean the cache! I use zone alarm and it will block pop ups but it probably set wrong, and I do use it for banking, so not sure where to set it.

But can you imagine all the newbies on ebay with dial up, it would get so frustrating to shop, and easier to run to the store! I hope I am wrong as I am so often!

No one should have to put up with popups anymore. There are many programs out there to stop them, ranging in price from free to almost free. Popup Stopper and Popup Killer are only two. Find with Google and download.

Go to Start in the lower left corner. Go to Settings. Go to Control Panel. Go to Internet Options. Click on Delete Files. After that is done click on Settings then View Files. Go to Edit at top of page Select All then go to File(right next to it) and click Delete. Then click yes. That gets rid of all your cookies. Go back to Settings Page. Click ok. Then click on Clear History. That's the way I do it but there may be a better way. I do this at least once a day.

Another way to delete cookies all at once or one-at-time is: go to start, click on RUN, type in cookies and enter......all the cookies currently in the computer will appear. one can delete each by right clicking on it and delete it as desired. one can also press and hold the control key therby highlighted as needed, then right click and delete......I do not recommend that you delete any DAT files....

that will not clean all of the cookies...

if you go to start, programs, accessories, system tools and run Clean Disk...you will clean all the temporary internet files without cleaning out your favorites cookies.

if you only clean cookies through internet options there are still thousands of cookies on your system.

the first time I ran a virus scan through McAfee it scanned over 50,000 temporary internet files...I couldn't even run Clean Disk.

I had to take it to the shop in order to clean it out and now I run it every couple of days.

It cut my virus scan from over 2 hours down to about 35 minutes.
