Hi everyone,
I know I am jumping the gun a little, but here is my question. How long must I wait to relist?
I am currently selling a hot Christmas Item. This is obviously seasonal. I have had everyone respond and pay immediately except one person. This auction was purchased with Buy It Now and at a great price. These items are now going for much more. Well, this buyer has not yet even responded to my WBN. Its only been 4 days but like I said this is a Hot seasonal item.
How long do I need to wait to relist? Do I have to wait 7 days plus 10 or can I relist immediately?
Thanks for your input....

Well 4 days is not long enough. Sometimes buyers never answer but send the money. If you relist now and it resells to someone else your in for a negative. Do you say in your auctions payment must be received before x amount of days? It's to early yet.

You can relist any time you want... but 4 days is not even long enough for mail to get to you.

I would wait at least a week and give the person a chance, they may have computer problems and can't get online or personal troubles, if it is that important, pull their contact info and give them a call.

But I guess it depends on your TOS also, do you have a time limit listed?

Thanks for the advice....I know I'm too early, just a little worried because it was a BIN with a buyer who purchased more of this type of product and has feedback saying what fast payment. Worried that maybe they just purchased too many and are backing out.
I do have in my TOS that they need to respond within 3 days and payment within 10.
Just don't want to get stuck with having to wait 17 days and the Christmas Rush is over.

If you use the bin feature its best to state in your tos that payment is due now.

If you are in a hurry you can also state that payment is due via paypal, bidpay etc.

When you are dealing with a seasonal item its best to have a time limit stated for contact.

So....for anyone interested....here is the rest of the story....Buyer's "friend" calls me on my personal phone line today (got contact info from eBay)
here is what transpired..."I was here when she bid the BIN, she tried to bid, but got a message that says this item is no longer available."
Oh, there was so much more to the story, but has anyone ever heard of such a thing?
BTW, the buyer doesn't want it now...this wasn't the largest auction amount in the world, but it was a $60.00 auction....

Classic case of buyers remorse. Relist , file for your fees and leave them a npb on their file.
They are just giving you a line of BS.

trai is absolutely correct. further contact with this buyer will only get you more grief.
make sure you leave the needed neg feedback too.

Well at least they didn't make you wait all that time. Again this is an uneducated eBay buyer. Why don't people READ instruction before jumping into something head first. I hope that you sell it again before christmas.
I think if you put in your auctions "If payment isn't received in 7 or 10 days item will be relisted" (You make the Choice) than I think you can relist it. Maybe someone can clairfy that

Thanks for all of your input....we have been selling for four years now and no negative feedback has been given to us, this will probably be our first....I have relisted. I hope this one sky rockets.

Do you have more of the same item? To me, it sounds like you might. If so, get them listed now.
If that was the last one, then you should wait for at least two weeks to allow payment to come in the mail. Specially this time a year when the post office is getting busier.
