If you are not joking about the reserve, tell her to list it herself..the woman has lost a sprocket somewhere...

3 french fries short of a happy meal in my opinion.

I believe the toy itself is from the 50's but the two sticks - "stolen from the Go Go room, doesnt look like they originally went with the toy?!!!! In today's market, I think a $99 price is a little high. But then again, I am no expert.

Show her these auctions. I have sold a few of these in my shop for around $10 to $15.

Did she see this on the Antiques Road Show?

Good, let this "somebody" pay her.

I hear this all the time, ever notice how all these know-it-alls never put up a single dime but they just know its valuable.

Best to just let her sell this "winner" herself.

It might be worth a little but not $99.00 worth. Just a suggestion. Don't take items on consignment as non eBay users know nothing about the auction system (My husband) and think everything they have is worth $19,000.00 but isn't.

Do they have an old Beer can from the boom-boom room?
Throw that in too.
That would help!

IMHO this one does not look like one of the older ones.

Most of the old Japan metal toys have the company logo (such as the Alps logo) printed with the design on the metal.

It seems to be in pretty good shape, so it might sell for upwards of $40-$50. Providing it's marketed well, and you run across the right buyer. However, if this lady is set on getting at least $99 for it, tell her to try selling it herself, and good luck!

Some people just crack me up. This lady is probably more willing to just hang on to it than "give it away" (hah!). She'll package it up, store it somewhere, and in a while forget she ever had it, rather than get some $$ for it.

Oh well...it takes all kinds doesn't it?

I think it would be a good idea to avoid stolen items.
