Hello,
here's my problem:
Auction closed on Nov 14.
I have stated on my term very clearly:
Payment must be received within 7 days after the auction ends
Never heard anything this buyer and never received any payment.
Nov 24, Filed for non paying bidder reminder with Ebay.
This buyer paid on Nov 29 by Billpoint, I immediately refunded this payment because this item is no longer available, it's been relisted.
she also sent email after she sent payment (first email I received from her since the auction closed) asking me to return her money order if I received it.
Dec 4, I filed for my final value fee.
Today, Dec 5 I received her second email telling me that she wasn't sure whether I had sent a money order or not and wanted me to explain why I filed for non paying bidder.
I explained to her all the facts but then she took this case to square trade and demanded this solution:
1. Remove the non paying bidder.
2. Allow me to pay the $21.00 difference.
(I don't know what difference she's talking about)
3. Ship me the ring.
What kind of solution would you give?
Thank you

You do not have to do anything at this point. She had plenty of time to contact you and make payment.
Why should you pay square trade for her screw up. If they contact you just give them the facts and leave it at that.
Do not get involved with them. They can not force anything on you.
Your exbidder is just worried about her ebay record now.

Just contact square trade that she did not meet your terms of service, and that since she did not pay within the time allowed (which is reasonable) that the item is no longer available, and that you will not be removing the NPB

In the last 2 years I have been contacted by ST for 2 transactions that I felt weren't worth my time responding as I didn't do anything I felt that was wrong. They will keep emailing you and bugging you but eventually they will drop it. Like was said above...they can't enforce anything! SquareTrade is more interested in the $$ they want to get than anything else!

I have a question. Did you ever contact the buyer re: warn her of NPB etc.? Maybe I'm too lenient with my buyers, bur I never do anything for 30 days & I send at least 2 emails before doing anything. I always try to give the buyer a little slack. You don't know what is happening on their end.

You can safely ignore both her and SquareTrade.

Follow ahc3's advice.
YOU don't have to pay anything. The person who filed with Square Trade would have to pay ONLY if you agreed to remove the neg.
State the facts to ST and that's the end of that. They will close the case and you will have the satisfaction of knowing you did your part as a responsible seller and that your deadbeat won't be able to "buy" her way out of a neg.

OK, I'm curious.
How many of your footdraggers "convert" after 30 days?
In other words, after letting it go to the point they've forgotten about it, and nagging them by email after that without ever bringing the big guns of NPB/FVF into it, what percentage of your buyers ultimately fork over the dough?
Collection agencies will tell you that the longer a debt goes unpaid, the less likely it is that it will ever be paid.

Good advice so far... well the ones telling you to ignore both buyer and square trade
I had one dealing with them the kept emailing me so I just blocked their email.
I have a set time limit in my auctions 14 days, that is plenty of time and on day 15 I start filing.
