Damon- Anybody- I need to find out where a Billpay payment went. I have posted other places but still have no answer and Geico is harassing me... I called and emailed Paypal but still know nothing.
My insurance will be cancelled if I can't show them I paid. Billpay worked for my insurance payments before... I have no idea why it would be different this month.
Please help me. How can I obtain the "preauthorized check" with policy number that Geico says they don't have? I doubt this is a Paypal problem, I have had problems with Geico billing before. But then I had something on paper from my bank. What do I do to show Geico I've paid?

can you go into your paypal account and call up the transaction history and see if the geico payment is there?/

It shows as payment complete. All the numbers are correct... The money is gone from my account and the only answer I get from the phone number is "Wait, it should eventually show up" and "You've done all you can"..
While I am happy to have done all I can, Geico is not willing to wait until whenever... It looks like I will have to pay again and just lose my first payment. There seems to be no paperwork of any kind.
I guess I'll never use Bill Pay again, and I will not be renewing with Geico either. Looks like the only good way to pay a bill is to write a check and hope USPS delivers fast enough..

No, they won't accept it. They want Paypal to fax something... I am about to give up and pay it again via Snail Mail and hope...

it can be with paypal suspense account waiting to return to the rightful paypal member,it could be with the bank where paypal has its account, waiting to be returned to paypal,it could be with geico suspense account not knowing which member to credit,it could be with bank where geico has an account, waiting to credit geico??
if the data were messed up in electronic transfer, and become illegible, then all these payments will end up in a suspense account waiting to be sorted out,and whose suspense account ?/paypal,paypal bank, geico, geico bank.
in some transactions there are also corresponding banks involved, like overseas transfer, some small banks may clear thru a bigger bank in a big city,so there are more parties involved, have fun!!!!!!!
if geico will accept proof from paypal ,the i would get on paypal case and have them do it.

When did you send it? On Monday Morning I withdrew my money from paypal and it got to my bank this morning. It might take longer to pay a bill. I think with the Holidays that PayPal is probably busier than ever.
I also think that you have a 30 day grace period for your insurance payment, at least I do with Prudential. Read your policy and see what that says about a grace period. Good Luck.

One more thing. Did you get an email from PayPal when they sent the payment to Geico? If so send a copy of that email to Geico also.

I am sure it is Geico's mistake, they messed up my account last year too..
I am waiting for a Paypal rep to email me about this problem, hope they do soon. They did email me a few hours ago to let me know they were looking into it.
Geico reps are jerks, they keep acting like I am a deadbeat. I offered them the paypal letter/receipt but they say the fax must come from Paypal. I am looking at my policy this evening to find out about a grace period. Maybe the rep at Geico was wrong..

You may wish to double check each character in the email address you paid to GEICO, one little boo boo, will put your payment in the big void!!

Believe it or not, Paypal has not let me down before. They have been great. It is the jokers at Geico. This morning Geico "found" my payment. They do not admit they made a second mistake, they just suddenly "found" the payment. Wow, how nice! I am so done with the morons at Geico. If they can't figure out their own billing system, I'd hate to ever have to file a claim...

This happened to me last month with Netbank. My bank account showed the bill was paid, money was gone from my account, yet the CC company did not receive it. I had paid this way for a year now- I knew the CC card would not be of help as they get stories all the time that payment was made. So I contacted Netbank just via email and they responded quickly and completely took care of it. The CC Company still took 10 days to straighten it out on my bill and I got a pathetic letter with no apology that the late fee were credited back. I am positive is was the CC card's fault.
Paypal should help you, Netbank is a free account too with free Billpay if you want to try it.

vvalhalla,
We just signed up for Gieco, Geko or whatever, and your post came too late. I've lost that warm fuzzy feeling. LOL but I sure appreciate your red flag....
