I have been to the PayPal site 3 times this morning to pick up payments only to encounter a message that current transactions aren't presently available, to check back in a hour!

I have checked back and checked back, and same old message. Via "history" I have been able to pick up one payment made on the 16th, but nothing since - is anyone else encountering this message?? Is PayPal really that busy???

Thanks!

Beau

I don't know about PayPal, but the USPS site was down last night! When I tried to get shipping info for international, the message I got was that there was too much traffic on that page so it was unavailable. That's never happened to me before, but perhaps it always does this time of year?

Yep same thing here.

Click on the 'All Activity' tab and you can see your payments that way.

Hope this helps.

I'd much rather get the current transactions not available and have them a mere mouseclick away then not even get into the site.

Maybe it was the current tranaction function was was causing the site to be down entiring and PP has worked out this nice work-around while they fix the problem?

Still down - my account balance hasn't changed all day, and at this time of year that is HARD to believe - there was one update, from early December, that had already been updated....this is frustrating...

I wish a PayPal Rep. would drop by and tell us what the REAL problem is, and when they foresee it being corrected.

I know it is much easier to see current activity and be able to check them off in to your folder as you get them but if you click see all activity you can view all the payments. It is not affecting receiveing or sending payments (at least not mine). This happened about a year ago and lasted about 2 weeks. there was some kind of interanl change they were making but I can't remember the exact reason for it.

I'm not selling this week, but I did go to Paypal twice today (using the Pay now button on auctions I won) and got there with no problems.

Paypal says that current transaction are not available. BUT if you click on the All transactions link, you will see everything, even that which isn't showing up in current...

try it, it worked for me...

Has anyone considered turning off your images while working in Paypal? Internet Explorer has a tool called web accessories that allows you to turn off the images. This should help you browse faster and be considerate of other Paypal users.

If you use the UPS Shipping Tool this suggestion is no good for you though.

Last week a virus attacked major computer systems including Internet Explorer which was shut down, Earthlink was down as were many company servers. Several systems were damaged if the virus was not caught in time. I believe it was another email attachment.

Nothing was on the news or on the message boards however and everything was up and running within several hours. It happened last monday.

Paypal is going to gridlock even more in the next few months as Billpoint shuts down. Notice has already been sent to Billpoint users.

Has anyone considered turning off your images while working in Paypal?

Speeding up the website with the help of the users is a great idea that is never mentioned anywhere.

Many computer users are unaware of how a website really functions. Those users tend to think in terms of the internet being very much like television. If one billion TV sets were watching the same channel at the same exact time it would have exactly zero effect on the TV station's ability to put out signal. But if ten thousand computer users are at a website can effect the server load greatly. The logged in users are different than the unlogged in viewers too.

What I'm trying to say is that I believe it would speed up the site and lockouts would be less frequent if users got into a site like PP and did their business and logged out or left the site as quickly as possible to expediate things on the site for other users. Even with a paid service like PP the users can help keep costs down by being prudent with the time spent at the site.

Anyone else ever thought about this aspect of the internet?
