Not long after I registered a domain name, mentioning ebay in the title, I got notice from their legal dept. threatening me and telling me to let my domain name expire and not to develop the site. I just told them that I had an idea for a site and wouldn't do any development for at least a year, if any. They don't take to kindly to any use of their name in a domain name. I don't know what type of case they'd have against me, as my idea for a site had to do with a type of stock transaction, and to turn it into a web discussion forum. On the other hand, I have seen quite a few people with domains using ebay in the title. I have even seen a guy on ebay, selling foul domain names including ebayscum.com as well as some others. As far as I know, his auctions were allowed to continue, but who knows what has happened since.

Celebrity,
The guy selling the domain names probably doesn't have a dime to his name. Ebay's letting the auctions run, hopeing someone with tons of money wins. Then they'll nail HIM.
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.
